Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941.
2,403 Americans Killed.
1,178 Wounded.
ALWAYS REMEMBER, NEVER FORGET.

What a day. My granddad would talk about this day a lot. It's the day he decided to enlist. It's always been a special day to me.

What a difference it is teaching in Texas. In Nevada I would ask kids on this date, what day it was and rarely did anyone mention Pearl Harbor. Today I ran the same exercise and not a single class went by without several kids shouting out that it was Pearl Harbor Day. There's still hope for the future....

My dad survived Pearl. His ship wasn't hit. Was sent below deck to help pass up ammo and later had the dreaded task of helping recover the injured and dead. Went on to serve in the Midway. That's the extent he'd talk about it. He lost a brother in the war. I know these experiences effected him terribly, but he didn't show it. And he hated any oriental food.

They had rather mess with them damn phones and TicTock then actually learn History,,when my Grandkids come over I have a bag at the door to put their phones in, no sense trying to talk to them and watching punch that damn phone, They been taught differently than we had been, I used to love History, still do, but, not these kids..
