Here is a fun one for you, you'll have to excuse the tone but even with how frustrating the back and forth with you was...and even when you got juvenile and put words in people's mouths back then....I stuck with my point and even told you not to trip over the word sucks. Go back and read the whole thread....you'll see where the mod had to warn you about your tone and comments and threaten to ban you:

Now I have no idea why I would actually enter in to a point/counterpoint dialogue with you (since you rarely talk sports and even more sporadically stay on point and engage in respectful or better yet sports banter)

But to your sidepoint/squirrel......Mayfield still sucks. One game vs Tulsa's leaky defense doesn't change that. That is like UT fan being giddy about beating Rice (a point I know you can understand since you were here just a week ago).

I'll clarify it one last time, since you want to change the subject and ignore the content, and make something up, and then allude to something else (how shocking)......but Mayfield is a nice starter for your system.....and yet he still sucks. He won't win you anything of substance, but he'll impress you enough to frustrate the hell out of you when he actually chokes vs real competition.

Don't get tripped up because I used the word "sucks". I know you get all uppidy and when someone says anything negative about an OU player you act like they are calling for the beheading of his mother and how dare we call some poor innocent spade a spade.

====================================================

And all that is in response to an even better thread that I'll link next where I said that "he is a great fit for what Lincoln Riley wants to do, he will pile up the stats, and he will lose big games".

Another fun link, is where I showed a game by game log of him at TT and pointed out how he piled up stats vs weak comp and lost big games and that this is how my opinion of him was formed and you acted like this was so unfair and went on a rant and again were threatened to be banned.

So instead of making stuff up......is the above wrong? Did he not pile up the stats and lose arguably his two biggest games in RRS and bowl game? And in the other big games he disappeared for whole halves like Tenn (hell 2 OTs and he put up a whopping 187 yds). TCU 127 yds. Ok St 180 yds. BU for 270. Congrats on the team winning those, but he didn't exactly light it up any of them now did he?????

When opinion are rooted in facts, I guess all you have is to point out a squirrel and make up something to criticize. Best of all and to put this all to bed and move on, can you accept that maybe, just maybe you misremembered my comments on him and also accept that there is no need to put words in my mouth and it really isn't a good way to point/counterpoint.....you can see from the link I posted that this is an ongoing theme for you for over a year now? Wanna squash it?

Mayfield finished 4th in Heisman voting. You called Hansen the best of the bunch. How did that work out for you? You really should quit while you are behind.

LOL... playing Devil's advocate here..... but how much fuss did you make over Bell being Superman incarnate, and how long did it take you to quit after you realized how far behind you were in that argument? Im just saying... glass houses and such. ;)

A walkon finishing 4th in the Heisman. Jsto throws all kind of crap on the wall hoping it sticks no w he's being obtuse. Obviously the Heisman voters think Mayfield won enough big games. Again Jsto said Hansen was the best of the bunch. Kind of hard to take anything he says seriously. He's known for trying to hedge his bets and throwing out predictions across the board. Although it's kind of funny he was invited to predict the score of the Horn football games on a weekly basis and each week he declined but he's full of "I told you so's" afterward. He's not fooling anyone. Who cares if he said it, the Heisman voters agree that he's dead wrong. What's new?

Seeing as how he finished 4th, it really doesnt look like he won enough big games at all.... 4th place is the 3rd loser so to speak.... kid was good, dont get me wrong - but he did have a bit of choke in him when it came to the "big" games - ie Texas/Clemson.... Although, had he actually beat Texas and ran the Big 12 table, he very well may have won. But his week in and week out play showed him to be less than what it takes to win the Heisman. Those are facts, as is evidenced by his 4th place finish..... but it doesnt matter.
I think he ends his college career having NEVER beaten Texas - regardless of what uniform he wore. ;)

What jsto said was READ THIS SLOWLY NOW......Mayfield would put up big numbers and fit that offense perfect but would lose big games. All that is true and was said BEFORE not AFTER the fact. You ou fans have blinders on. Mayfield got beat by Texas. 5-7 Texas. They beat tcu and bailor with their backup QBs playing........Every college football fan in the country believes ou loses both those games with their starters playing. Same with bailor losing to Texas. I am realistic......Texas probably loses with bailors starting QB playing. ou fans can't be realistic when it comes to their program.

Quit twisting words and picking out fluff that doesn't mean anything. Jsto was right. Mayfield looked all world against inferior teams and choked in the 2 biggest games of the year. DO YOU DISAGREE HE LOST THE 2 BIGGEST GAMES?? If tcu and bailor don't lose their QBs then ou doesn't make the playoff and he doesn't get invited to jack.

Agree he lost the 2 biggest games but I don't think the losses were on him. Again, READ THIS SLOWLY NOW, JSTO flat out stated that Hansen was the best of the OU qb's. Do you care to defend he was right on that one. It still cracks me up that JSTO is claiming he was right, insinuating that Mayfield sucks yet he finishes 4th in the Heisman. That's freaking hilarious and his argument is stupid.it must tear you up that Mayfield was VOTED in the top 5 Heisman?

Again. You are picking apart every single word to find "something", "anything" to say he was wrong. Him being wrong about one thing doesn't make him wrong about the other. So what if he said Hansen was the best you had?? What he said about Mayfield was pretty dang accurate. He did put up numbers and fit the offense perfectly AND he did choke out in the biggest games. Now when a team loses of course it was not ALL on Mayfield....but why was the WHOLE ou team not called to New York for the Heisman? Duh....the QB gets the CREDIT and the BLAME.

If you argue a subject, any subject the argument is not lost simply because one point (a very small point) of the argument was not 100% correct.....when the MAIN point of the argument was a homerun FACT. You and fizz are trying to make a small point huge so that the premise of the argument changes making y'all right. Anyone reading what you and fizz are saying and is not an ou homer would agree jsto was way more right than wrong.

He said Mayfield sucks........he didn't mean he sucks and doesn't deserve to be QBing a football team........he meant he sucks in that he will LOSE BIG games. ou and Texas are not about stats........they are about winning BIG GAMES. He is not measuring his suckiness by stats.......he is measuring his suckiness by losing big games. jsto should have used a different word but it doesn't change his main argument.

jsto if I got this wrong please let me know. I know you can argue very well for yourself.

If you wanna get rowdy - you used to proclaim Blake Bell as being the best sooner QB, and even the best in the country... took you a cpl years to back down from that.... even after he got bumped to TE... :D

Admit it.... you miss me being here to bust your balls over trivial stuff... haha

No, you nailed it.

Sorry fizzy and belldoucher and whatever other obsessed OU trolls....I actually have a life and don't live on a rivals board arguing everything and nothing.

I even think the Hansen talk was in a thread where we were talking about him xferring. It wasn't like some prediction of mine. It was a "man that sucks to lose that guy because he coulda been your best".

Meanwhile the Mayfield comments have been spot on, and that pisses off the trolls that like to fabricate things to argue about. So here, when given the exact words....they want to argue about something else instead of admitting they were wrong on what they "thought I said", wrong for calling me out, and that I was flat out correct. It really isn't that hard to admit the truth.....is it you two????

I tell ya, you have become a real chatty Kathy now that the season is over. Odd considering you were nowhere to be found during most of the season. And I can't say I blame you. You were probably very embarrassed and rightfully so. Did you ever do a followup to your thread about the intricacies and nuances associated with the use of the ignore feature? That was very well done btw. Fantastic.

No you said you thought Hansen was the best of the bunch. Since you have free time, pull up the quote so we can see. You are attempting to ridicule a guy who finished 4th in the Heisman voting. The voters obviously don't agree with your impression of Mayfield. You really look dumb here.
