Is anybody going to watch it? I will be flippping back and forth between it and the Mens basketball vs alabama. From what I gather, if Colorado wins, Michigan is in the CFP, if Washington wins, then Washington goes to the CFP. It should be a decent game.

I'll be pulling for U-Dub....my best friend is a big Husky fan and he obliged me by rooting for the Longhorns in the 2006 National Championship game in a home full of USC fans....plus I still remember Colorado from the 90s when they were the Rocky Mountain Campus of U-Miami.....

Buffs had a pretty porous defense against the run in that opening drive. Wash 7 CU0

EweDub is running all over them though but the game is closer than I would have thought....

Hopefully you've gone full time to the fb game. The bball game is painful to watch. I've had to turn to a Russian Imperial stout.

And we have the lead for the 1st time at the moment.

Washington pulled away 31-10 with only 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd Qtr. Washington isn't a lock to go to the CFP because of their schedule (at least this seems to be the expert's consensus). However, I think they are in. Clemson may be the only disrupter of the CFP if they lose. If Clemson wins, I think it is clear cut-bama, tOSU, Washington, Clemson. If Clemson loses and Penn St wins, we are going to have hear never ending controversy between Penn St and Michigan,

I don't have a vote but as far as I'm concerned Washington deserves a spot in the playoffs. When you're number 4 and you win your conference championship in impressive fashion, and on national tv, you're good enough. As compromised as the committee is after the way WA played they won't have the nuts necessary to put a Big X team ahead of them.

And after the way Colorado was dominated expect the Rose Bowl to take Southern Cal over them to play the PS/WI winner. Remember SC beat CO earlier in the year.

Yeah. UW deserves to be on. I'm not sure they are better than Michigan or Clemson but someone has to get left out and they should be rewarded for winning their conference.

I personally think this year will start serious discussions about an 8 team playoff.

I know the transitive power of football matchups doesn't take individual matchups into account but Michigan beat Colorado 45-28 at home and UW beat them 41-10 at a neutral site. Michigan gave up 325 yards and UW gave up 163. A lot of that has to do with TOP UW held the ball for 38 minutes because they were able to run the ball 54 times with a 4.9 ypc average.

the playoff committee has backed themselves into a corner when it comes to the Big10 deal in putting in a contender over the conference championship. Keep talking out of both sides of their mouth.

They kept telling the BigXII to institute a conference championship playoff game which would increase our chances of the winner getting in the playoffs. Based on what is going on in the Big10 this year our conference championship doesn't mean a thing.. they will pick the conference loser if they want to.

Nailed it.

The problem with the conference championship games is really the way they are decided. Because of the divisions you can end up with not the best teams in the gsme. Often times you do. Someone mentioned the 70-3 beat down of CU sevreal years ago. Colorado wasn't the 2nd best team that year. They just won a geographically decided division.

That's why I favor 8 teams 5 conference champions 3 at large. If we're going to have the title games they have to matter, and that's the only way.

And a lot of that has to do with the fact that the pc has to many people with Big X ties.

Baltica? That is the only Russian beer I know.

This is true, but it is also what will someday force them to expand to a legit playoff of 8 teams or more.

I also think it lends itself to favoritism towards to blue blood programs, and since Texas is a blue blood, i like our chances.

I actually favor a 6 team format with one at large team and 5 conf champions. Top 2 get a bi while the lower 4 duke it out in an extra game. Then you are back to a 4 team playoff that will take place after new years.

6 works. Just got to make the championship matter or why have them? I also think all conferences should have a chance to be represented. Going in you know someone will be left out and that's not right imo

Washington probably deserves in the playoff, but has zero chance to win it. They don't have the athletes like Bama, Ohio State, and Clemson. Just look different, and not in a good way.

To be fair. No one can really compete athletically with Bama and Ohio state right now. It's almost to the point of being unfair

Getting a bye is an enormous advantage that the differences between the No. 2 and 3 teams will rarely ever justify. I would prefer to keep the CFP limited to four teams, but if it's going to be expanded, it needs to go to eight.

Why should tOSU have the chance to win the title with two games while Clemson and Washington (or whoever else makes it in) have to win three? There's no reasonable justification for that whatsoever.

Yeah I see that. I think this year illustrates why it has to go to 8. First of all like I said I don't think long term you can just leave out at least one conference champion every year. Doesn't seem right, and I think eventually the P5 conference will be saying that.

2nd like I said I think you have to make the conference games matter. I mean look at what has happened this year. Clemson and Washington have to win their title game to get in. Ohio state gets in without playing. And penn state or Wisconsin likely get nothing. It makes no sense. The conference championship game either matters or it should go away. It shouldn't matter for some teams and nothing for others.
