I am surprised nobody has posted this. Last week, Zach Evans left the team (shocker). TCU headed further downward without Patterson

Evans will wind up at East Mississippi Comm College (likely) followed by the CFL (likely) followed by incarceration (a certainty).

Was there rumors of Patterson’s eventual firing? This came out of nowhere. He is 61. Does he retire or go somewhere? I think it would be difficult for him to serve as a DC.

Do you have a link regarding Evans? Any scuttlebutt on what happened? I had heard that he was down to his last strike with Patterson. This is not surprising news. I think most expected Evans to not make it at TCU long term.

Patterson has allegedly gotten sideways with some of the big oil boosters. Just a rumor I've heard. Can not confirm.

Man a they fing stupid. Greatest coach they will ever have. Greatest era they will ever have. Gary Patterson had TCU up by double digits on Ohio State in primetime, held Ole Miss from crossing more that 2 times in the Peach Bowl, and beat Wisconsin in the Rose.

As much as I despise Gary Patterson he is a hell of a football coach. Would have loved to see what he could do with a team full of 4 and 5 star recruits.

I had a little time to watch the TCU press conference regarding Patterson's firing. The basics were: 1) They had high expectations for this year after a few down years (2018 7-6, 2019 5-7, 2020 6-4, 2021 3-5) and they knew by mid-October it was obvious that those wouldn't be met. 2) He said that they opted to terminate him now so that they could have the new HC in place by Dec 15 which is the early signing period. 3) Jerry Kill the associate HC for offense will be the interim HC.

My money is on Justin Fuente to get the TCU job. IMO he should retain Sonny Cumbie as OC if at all possible.
