Bounce BACK!

The Texas Longhorns got a gem of a game from Friday night starter Lucas Gordon, but they were unable to get things going offensively and dropped the first game of the series by a score of 2-1. For a full recap, check out @AaronLittleOB here - Fri Night Recap

The Horns need to flush last night's performance from their minds and come out attacking today against LHP Braden Carmichael, who has been very good for the Sooners since being inserted into the starting lineup a month ago by Coach Skip Johnson. Last night the Horns were 0-8 with RISP and failed to capitalize twice in big moments, the first being bases loaded with 1 out and the other with runners on the corners and 1 out. Today, they have to be ruthless at the plate because scoring one run simply will not cut it. While Dylan Campbell had four really productive at-bats where he was hammering the ball, he came away just 1-4 on the night, while EK and Powell went a combined 0-7. The Longhorns have to get production from the top of the lineup or it really puts a ton of pressure on the bottom of the lineup which can be hit or miss at times.

The good news is that the Horns didn't strike out a ton last night (2 on the night) and they did have barrels on balls, just not consistently or to the right spot as the Sooner defense, which has been shaky all season, performed really well last night,

The Horns CANNOT afford a series loss after failing to sweep Baylor last weekend so today and tomorrow remain as must-win games!
