Yo guys, I've been crazy busy with work and planning my wedding but wanted to stop by and say congrats on your class and give a shout out to your staff on an absolutely money of a finish to the cycle. We got our a$$es handed to us to close out. I really like what we have in our class but overall its a complete failure considering how we should have finished and compared to our conference mates. I may be around some today if you want to drop bombs on me. Again congrats guys.

congrats on the wedding... persistence truly pays off. a sheep can only say no so many times.
but seriously, congrats.How you finish is much more important than where or how you start.
Most of us Longhorn fans had our doubts, but Strong is an absolute witch of a recruiter. He never gave up on guys like Fowler or Hudson, and where it might not have paid off with Hudson, it paid off huge with Fowler.
Charlie played it smart this year, he didn't push for early commitments, he told them to enjoy the process and don't commit until you are 100% sure. With that he used his time wisely and was able to build relationships with these guys so that they were less concerned about on the field production and felt more empowered in their decision.
This tactic might not work next season, but hopefully Texas will win 9 or 10 games and have something more to sell than the promise of better days.

Just to clarify the money finish has nothing to do with any indication of paying recruits or anything like that, sorry, it was a reference to the movie swingers and being Money. Very impressive finish to the cycle. The Fowler flip IMO was the biggest piece because I think he is absolutely perfect for the Fox position, its a perfect fit for both sides. I was a littler perplexed as to why he was going to LSU to potentially play inside.
Yes, Sumlin got his ass handed to him and still landed an above average class.
