I'm checking back in with your board after last year's ridiculous 50-48 game in Austin. You were an entertaining board before, during and after the game, so I decided to do this again. Long story short,
  • What do you want to know about the 2020 KUFB team?
  • What do I need to know about the 2020 UTFB team?
  • How are both teams looking right now before the game?

What do we need to know about Kansas? Pooka Williams and that's it.

This TX fb is starting to show its talent and this should be a stats game on Saturday.

TX is getting better every game. Kansas won't win a game this year.

Pooka isn’t playing this year.

Pooka opted out in mid October. His mom is not in the greatest health situation. Us fans think that we will not see him play for KU again.

If our starting DL is cleared, that is our best bet for a somewhat entertaining watch. We are young, but growing some. The blowouts do not tell the whole story.

With UT, how are the injuries? I remember reading that the bye week was ideal for that reason.

here's the truth-- we'll win. but it'll be unnecessarily close.
If it is close, that will be terrible for UT. The spread is something like 28 pts. Our OL is the worst that we have possibly ever seen. I don't trust everything about Pro Football Focus scores, but our LT has scored a 17.1 vs OU. I want to say his pass blocking has been in single digits at least 2 games this season. He was our LG, but our supposed to be LT transferred our not long after Fall Camp. Just terrible is all I can say.

Damn sorry about Pooka he's a good player and sorry to hear about his mom. He had a great game against us last year. And he's made some big plays for KS this year. And in 2 weeks KS plays a lousy TCU team in Lawrence and they have a real chance in that one. They beat TCU last time in Lawrence and barely lost the 2 times there before that. The TCU loss was ridiculous but if we hadn't fumbled on the 1 yard line we'd have won. And in the season finale KS plays at TT so there's hope still for a win. Is Pooka good enough to play in the NFL?

Don't underestimate the Texas team. They will come out flat and uninspired. There will be a lot of unnecessary penalties with very conservative play calling. Take the points, easy money.

If Herman gets a lead of 7+ points, he'll try to run the clock out. I doubt Texas scores 28 points.

Based upon what I’ve seen from Herman when he’s a huge favorite against a bad football team, 31-16 Texas. Talent-wise, should be 59-10, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I completely get what you mean; after watching the WVU @ UT game two weeks ago, I was shocked with how messed up that game was.

Our defense is young but promising. If your offense can expose our LBs, you will be in good enough shape. You can probably get by with 20 points, based on our offensive production for the season.

I think we win this one pretty easily. I feel good about our defensive front against their offensive line. I will be disappointed if we don’t win by 35+ points. But let me also say I will not be surprised if we just squeak out a 7-10 point win.
I truly believe our defense is improving and I would like to see us hold them under 10 points. This will be a breakout game for Bijan.

Not trying to sound big time, but similar words about winning big were stated last year. If your defense is improving as you say, then I w ok under how much the first half will be played. Our defense has performed admirably in the first halves of this season for the most part.

One thing going against KU for 2020 is the amount of freshmen who are playing. It is not all because of injuries; the coaches are simply plugging them in during this free year for NCAA eligibility purposes.

Well I got some good news from family members back home in TX. It appears that Jordan Whittington has been cleared to play this Saturday. Hope this is true.

Well hell. A few days ago the Big XII pushed the title game back to 12/19/20. This is the second game in the Big XII to be moved back to 12/12/20. That means 2 games in cold ass KS in December. I was looking forward to this game being a stats game. Guess well have to wait.

Official release

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas football game vs. Texas on Saturday, Nov. 21 will be postponed to Dec. 12 due to KU’s inability to meet the minimum position requirements established by the Big 12 Conference. The position group affected has a combination of injuries and contact tracing. Since Nov. 8, the KU football program has performed 825 COVID-19 tests with five returning positive on different testing days during that time span.

Prior to the season, the Big 12 Conference announced its football game cancellation thresholds. The minimum number of players required to play a game was set at 53, with specific numbers established for each position group.

The Jayhawks are now set to play next on Nov. 28 at home against TCU. Announced yesterday by Chancellor Girod, fans will not be permitted to attend the matchup versus the Horned Frogs due to the current spike of positive COVID-19 cases.

Our OL is a complete mess. It is not confirmed by official people, but it sounds like our starting center just opted out; still trying to figure out that one. Either way, we were on track to start true freshmen at RT, RG, C, a sophomore at LG, and our miserable senior LT. In 7 games, we've given up 34 sacks. Us fans are kind of thankful that this happened, simply because for those reasons. Our starting true freshman QB was seriously beat up after the OU game two weeks ago.

'Ya'll will win if it is cancelled" was said by an Aggy. Sadly. I could not say anything back. Hire Meyer!!!
Not saying that it will happen, but seeing how UT has back to back road games in the state of Kansas in December, there is a better chance you get your wish.

I remember that Herman got an extension. Is there a date when his buyout drops some in December?

Yep. It's 12 days, 3 hours, and 57 minutes away.
If y'all are okay with it, KU will gladly rubber stamp it for you on that gameday. We have general saying that when KUFB wins a game vs a P5 team, that team gets a new HC. Patterson is the only one to keep making the cut.

Our defense has been abysmal for a good while but that damn Pooka Williams ripped our defense a new one last year I believe. He’s a damn good back

Arguably the greatest player to wear the KUFB jersey for many of us fans and that includes Reesing from Lake Travis and Talib.

@outhereincali I see that I forgot to answer your question. Pooka is good enough to play in today's NFL, but he will need to be split out some and not go 100% RB. He managed to do what he did at KU, with our OL and team without getting injured; you best believe that he can make it in the NFL. He will not get drafted high for a variety of reasons, but he will be a steal for some creative offensive playcaller.

One of the greatest rbs of all time was Gale Sayers. 50 years after his last game he did things that have never been matched. Don't worry if you didn't see him. Just find his highlight films. He did things that not even Jim. Brown could do. And he went to KS. It was sad to what happened to him in his last years because of fb related injuries. But what a special player he was and off the field as well. I'm sure you know he died recently.

I see that I was not clear enough with my words. Pooka is the best KUFB player that many fans watched with their own eyes. There are multiple posters who talk about Sayers and they say the same thing about him.

Here is the best picture of the new Sayers statue, showing all of it. It was presented back in October.

Long story short, "Rock Chalk" is in reference to the type of limestone/chalk rock in the area back in the early days. Chalk rhymes with Hawk and that was the origin of the "Rock Chalk. Jayhawk. KU." chant.

Oh yeah, let's add insult to injury.

#29 is Ben Miles, son of HC Miles. This was his best block in his entire two year career at KU. Look at the result of it. Hollywood couldn't make up this hot mess

We got a bad OL too, and this shit happens during Texas OU game every play almost its wide open in Dallas. some hard hittin, its a wonder you didn't call a QB Outa the and...lol

I've read enough of the posts on this forum about how bad the UT OL is. I take it that it is bad, based on your desires. Not passing judgment, but I see that UT has given up 16 sacks in 7 games while KU has given up 34 sacks in 7 games; these numbers don't include QB hits. Us KUFB fans would be giddy if we had have the number of sacks and other messed up situations; defenses don't even need to blitz our OL. Literally 3 or 4 DL is all that is needed.

If this continues, it looks like both DLs will have some potential fun on Dec 12. Well, at least your team will.

Well, our OL coach got dismissed today. Weird timing but us fans will take it. It'll give him a week to prep for TCU.
