Prisoner swap....what do you think?

I have been reading about this US-proposed prisoner swap to exchange convicted Russian arms dealer for Paul Whelan (most Americans have no idea who he is - an American convicted for espionage in Russia and in prison there since 2018) and of course Brittney Griner (arrested for possession of large amounts of cannabis - a violation of Russian law).

I am not asking for your opinion on whether the Russian law on possession of that substance is fair or not.....

I am more concerned that the US is negotiating with terrorists. I would just let Griner deal with the consequences of her actions.
I am even more bothered that until the Griner situation happened, the US was not trying to do anything for Paul Whelan. That seems highly discriminatory to me.

What do you think?
 
Putin is showing his disdain for America on a couple of fronts with Griner. She got caught with cannabis and she’s gay, a double whammy in Putin’s book.
 
FJB should never agree to a prisoner swap. It sets a terrible precedent and creates an environment where ALL Americans abroad are at risk of being incarcerated to be used as pawns by foreign governments/organizations.
This would never have even been considered if Griner was a straight white male, but FJB will offer any trade necessary to placate the progressive woke mob.

I happen to believe Putin is very understanding of her being gay. C’mon, he knows no dude is gonna bang that. She has no choice.

I dont give a shit whether Griner is gay, tranny, or unjustly convicted. I hope to hell the USA spends not one iota of effort to get her(?) out of Russia. She turned her back on this country.....using every bit of her(?) public forum.
When she could not get the National Anthem banned being played before her games, she would refuse to come out of the locker room until it was over. I say those that deny this country should never get the benifits that being a citizen entails.....Das Vadania Britney!

My man! 👍 She only apologized to her teammates and club for her failure to recognize russian law. Just saw on the news. What an idiot in of all places (russia)pushes that envelope? She expects our country, who you correctly described she turned her back on, to bail her out? She is deficient and obviously challenged on the IQ scale. I just couldn't understand a government who would swap this clown for a terrorist. This would send the wrong message, but again we're living in shit britches America these days where anything can happen. She's lucky it's only a term of 9 years a she's still young. Fvck her.👍

Wow I did not know all of that. And of course Biden knows all of that, and in spite of all of that, in order to try to look hip and cool, and to garner votes he will award a Traitor much like himself.
