I just saw that Shaka Smart called the election of Trump as a "slap in the face." When will people who are coaches or in the public eye stop saying stupid things? This is not about politics but he has to realize there are a lot of Texas alumni and fans that don't share his view. I have to say this is disappointing and confirms what I saw from him at the TCU game last year when he did not cover his heart during national anthem..... My $$ going toward UT basketball just dried up.

I'm with you. If he said that, it is disappointing and divisive. Public figures shouldn't use their position to bully others.

He needs to spend more time coaching up his players after that fugly game last night then making political commentary.

I don't think it's all that decisive. Most of what Mr Trump has said during this campaign has been decisive, disgusting and not what you want to here from someone seeking the presidency. I think most people even members of his own party beleive that. The only reason he's president elect asside of the electoral college is he happen to run against the one person most of the country has hated longer than they've hated Trump. So,I don't think comments against Mr Trump are al, that decisive I think most of us can agree his behavior is below the standard of what we should expect from the presidency.

Now I don't beleive Mr Trump plays to do any of the stuff he said he was going to do which will piss off his hsrdcore supporters. However If you are a minority in this country right now I can certainly understand why you feel uneasy about what's going to happen. AS someone who is disabled I have some concerns. I don't think speaking out about those things should be frowned upon for anyone. You don't have to agree with what is said. I dont think though that your position in public should act as some sort of muzzle.

I always viewed sports as a distraction. Now from Belichick writing a letter to Trump, to Kapernick's antics, to Lebron saying he might not go to White House if he wins title, to this ---- those days are gone. Let the sports page stay the sports page!

So everyone can have an opinion except those paid to entertain? Can't work that way. Free speech has to be free speech for everyone or it doesn't exist

Like I said it's not like what's being said is all that controversial. Very few are actually confortable with the way Trump has behaved.

The sad thing is when the president says "when your famous you can do whatever you want" as it relates to treatment of women it's a lot harder to change cultures like at Baylor

It's a damn shame someone is so republican or democrat that they get upset over hearing the truth if they don't want it to be true. Trump did in fact say many divisive things...pitting group against group. Smart said the truth. He did not give a political opinion. If he had said Clinton was stupid with emails that would have been true as well. Facts be damned with some people.

Smart is a huge Barack Obama supporter so I think he's speaking on behalf of BO.

I was much more irritated to the extent that Greg Popovich felt he needed to comment on the election results. I don't have a problem that these people don't like Trump but they almost unanimously fail to mention the awful alternative of HRC in their diatribes. When you have 2 very polarizing, unfavorable options you are going to get a lot of butthurt from the losing side.

Just say Trump is a God and will be greatest president in history. Then you will be patted on the back.

They can have their opinion. But it DOES take away from the entertainment. I loved watching the Patriots. Now not so much because Belichick and Brady have introduced their political thoughts in a non political arena. If I want politics, I know where to go. If I want to be entertained, now its not clear where to go. And BTW - "slap in the face" is an aggressive statement, accusing voters of attacking him personally, without knowing their motivation for voting.

BTW - I went to a Bon Jovi concert a couple of years ago. As you may know, he opened up rallies for Al Gore (and did the same for Hillary). He made a comment during the concert that he refrains from making political speeches during concerts - he said he understands that people come to the concerts to be entertained by the music, not browbeaten with his political thoughts. He said if you want his thoughts, go to the political rallies. Personally I thought that was a nice balance.

It's my belief he won't be that bad because I think most of what he said is BS and he knows it.

I'm also of the opinion he won't make it 4 years. Either by impeachment or I also think it's possible he quits one day. I don't think he ever thought he was going to win or even wanted to win.
