I spoke with kicker Chris Naggar (Arlington High) tonight. Kind of interesting stuff ...
First off, Naggar officially got his acceptance letter to UT on Friday and put a deposit down. He's been looking for housing at UT, so he is good to go to Texas as of last weekend.
Naggar hopes to talk to the Texas coaches sometime soon to feel them out on where he fits in. If they want him to, he'll move to Austin in late May for summer school. If not, he'll move down for the fall semester and try to walk on at that time.
Naggar's story is pretty interesting. A coworker of his mother's heard the comment from Charlie Strong a couple weeks ago, basically joking through the media for people to send him any kickers they know of. That person mentioned the comments to Naggar's mother, who relayed the comments to Naggar. Naggar then tweeted at Strong and Jeff Traylor to get their attention and Traylor started following him. The two did communicate briefly on twitter at that time but there hasn't been much communication since.
Regardless, Naggar is now accepted into UT and is planning to enroll either this summer or in the fall.
