If you objectively look at both parties and their leaders (executive branch and congress), I see two things: 1. high level of unity in the Democratic party around ideas and policies that are fundamentally flawed (and previously proven wrong time and again), and 2. A Republican party that doesn’t have a clear vision or message on most things of consequence, highly politicized (eat your own culture) with high level of crazies (the crazies used to be almost entirely in the Democratic Party and the Republicans are giving them a run for their money). This is reflected in the midterm performance and the inability to put a speaker in place. As awful as the Democratic option (future policies and current performance) is, the Republicans would almost have to try to perform this poorly. Are they trying to throw games to get the first pick in the draft or something? Neither party is addressing the largest issues that we face with any seriousness.
Which brings me to the other day—I had to go into DPS to renew my drivers license and wait about an hour. I got a good hour of seeing a full cross section of society with a high level of reflection. I’m not suggesting that I was impressed with the DPS waiting crowd as they struggled to fill out the required forms, but I’m to the point where I’d go with a random draw out of society versus these clowns/morons who are in office.
Consider this the formal announcement of the Random Draw Party.
