Rashaan Salaam

Read some comments on Yahoo. All the idiots are sure it was either CTE or an overdose. Hope they are wrong. Too young to die either way. Sad deal.

I was truly not expecting this when I opened this thread.

Wow...rest in peace.

Would like to know what happened if anyone know.

and yes, he had a career day against us one year.

He didn't just have a career day against us. He had a career year, the year was 1994 and he went on to win the Heisman. Why hasn't anyone mentioned that yet? I didn't follow his NFL career so I don't know if it was a success for not. I do recall now that CO kicked a fg on the last play to beat us I believe the final score was 34/31.

Sorry for his passing.

He was a helluva RB for Colorado. Can't remember the yardage that he hung up on Texas his Heisman winning year, but it was a lot. I think it was close to 300 yards in Austin. Definitely too young to pass on. RIP Rashaan.

It was definitely 1994. I remember we had OOC games against Pittsburgh (W) and Colorado (L). I'm thinking Curtis Martin with Pitt ran for like 300 against us, which might have been UT opponent record, and then a few weeks later, Salaam broke it with another 300+ on us with Colorado. That was a loaded Colorado team we played close. They had Salaam, Kordell, Michael Westbrook, Ted Johnson, and a few others. It was the same year Colorado beat Michigan on the hail mary in the Big House.

RIP Salaam.
