Let's all take a brief step back for just a minute or two and look in the mirror and be honest with ourselves.

What do YOU PERSONALLY EXPECT to see today on the field

AND what will keep you encouraged about the progress of this team

AND what will make you throw your hands up and say fvck it?

321 go!

I'm expecting a solid showing on the defensive side of the ball. We must create turnovers and occasional confusion on the ND offense. I also expect Buechele to make a few mistakes but I just hope they aren't critical ones.

I'll be encouraged if we can establish a solid run game with some long drives. That will help Buechele get settled in and gain confidence.

I'll throw my arms up in the air if Buechele starts the game, plays a few series only to be replaced by Swoopes in the 2nd quarter and we never see him again.

Clob...asking me what I honestly expect will put you in touch with a strange mind:

I expect that we will have success running the ball...not 300 yards, but somewhere in the 150 to 220 yard range.

I expect that our D line will surprise....not dominate, but surprise. That being said, I believe we will make them pass more than they are comfortable with.

I expect us to win this game. I think if the game turns into a blow out, it will be for us and not ND.

I expect that it will be Farly and not me singing in the front yard.

what would make me throw my hands up?...if we look like we are wandering around clueless. If we just quit playing....

We will sell out to stop the run. If our corners are as good as I think they are, ND is going to be frustrated on offense.
I have no idea what to expect on offense. What I hope they do is throw the ball to the sideline enough to free up some room to run. what I'm worried we'll do is try to run straight at them.
With all the playmakers we have I expect at least a couple of huge plays.
I'm calling it now. Texas wins this game and looks pretty convincing doing so. That doesn't mean I think we won't struggle some this season, but I think people are going to be put on notice that our skill position talent is a matchup nightmare for defenses.

I expect us to be solid in the run game, using it to set up deep passes to our speedsters on the outside. I expect our defense to be hungry as f*ck and fired up. I expect them to hold ND below 340 yards on offense, and expect our offense to have 350-400 yards split down the middle between run and pass....I expect a 2 score win for Texas and an emphatic statement to the rest of the country that this Texas team is PISSED and out for blood.

What will cause me to say screw it and throw my hands up? Falling behind by 3 scores would do it.. but I wont stop watching till the final whistle regardless of what the score is, win or lose. NEVER give up on my Horns... EVER.

I expect this team to compete every second of the game. I expect the coaches to have a gameplan that can win the game. I think Texas has a shot if they can run the ball well and not fall behind where Texas will have to throw it every down. If I see Texas get blown off the field again then I may be asking myself if this is the right staff for Texas. 3 years and they should at least compete.

I would not be shocked if Texas wins. I will not be shocked if Texas loses a close competitive game. I will be shocked if Texas blows them out or they blow Texas out.

I am right there with you. I will never quit watching my Longhorns.

I'll be encouraged on offense:
Be able to hit receivers across the middle for a change. I am sick of the limited run game and sideline pass 3nOut formula.

I'll be encouraged on defense:
The defensive line plays well and the fresman DL can contribute positively where we aren't making excuses for them because they are freshman.

I hope to see better players on the field for Texas and that our coaches have trained them to be in the right positions to make a play.I hope to see quick snaps, correct reads by the QB to move the chains, some explosive runs by our backs to keep the pressure off our young Qb who you know ND will blitz. If we go 3 and out series after series then its going to be a long night.I hope to buy Longhorn soldier a drink after his 2 touchdown win prediction.

Good scotch, 4 fingers, 2 cubes of ice ;) we will talk when Texas smokes ND ;)

I expect a close and hard fought game with ND pulling away late. I will throw my hands up if we look like last year. But, I will be ecstatic with a Texas win. Hook'em.

35-17 Texas. Swoops gets pulled and Buechelle comes in and scores 2 tds.

Offense mvp Warren 2 TDS
Defense mvp Jefferson 3 sacks 1 FF

I'm a little confused. So if SB starts and fizzles and TS comes in and does well you're going to throw your hands up? Maybe I misread.

I think Gilbert will have a solid O game plan. No way he plays into NDs strength. It's why he was hired. We will roll them. I truly believe this. I don't think it will be close. Longhorn nation will be up all night celebrating.

They are not going to see it coming. Texas wins comfortably. Then we win the Big 12. Yes, I think we are going to be a lot better than most of you do. Look around the Big 12, who is the juggernaut? Nobody. Shock and awe...it's coming.

I'm on record as saying we win by 11. But, only if Boo gets a majority of the snaps.

I wont stop watching till the final whistle regardless of what the score is, win or lose. NEVER give up on my Horns... EVER.
The only exception for me was the '91 Cotton Bowl vs. the Thugs.

I was outta town but set the VCR to record it and instructed everyone I knew not to tell me about the game or the score.

When I returned, I watched about a quarter and a half. I then ejected the tape, took it and a hammer to the back porch, and beat the inanimate crap out of it.

True story.

I meant to say that SB starts and shows some promise before getting pulled for TS who leads us to a loss and more of the same offensive ineptitude as last season.

All i know is if swoops comes out and does nothing for 2 drives you will hear boo's and SB chants

No clue what's going to happen just have a gut feeling Texas by double digits. As a rational fan you have to be happy if they just compete but something is telling me Texas big. That's with no thought or analysis whatsoever.

I expect us to show heart..... to run the football, throw when we must, wind the clock----

I can handle a loss but if it's double digits.........

Not quite texas Hot...but still rising here in SA....(now 92)....also...Jeff Howe on 24/7 reports that he heard on 104? that it's Shane.....

I except to see improvement on both offense and defense. Better run game, and a better scheme on offense. On defense better LB play and better secondary play. I will throw my hands up if we make stupid mistakes again. Such as blown coverages, missed FGs, offside penalties (not just one), No more brain fart plays that we saw last year. I expect a more fundamentally sound team. I'm all in though, Texas 35, ND 28!

The Defensive key is getting off the field on 3rd down

Totally agree with you. I have felt this way for a while. So many people are judging this team by last year's and the year before. This team is talented, in shape and strong and hungry. They are going to make an emphatic statement tonight and never look back.
