ISU, KState, Baylor are all losable
WVU and Kansas should be wins but with this team’s lack of toughness you never know.
I’m betting that many guys have mentally checked out and quit after this game today.

So far we are pretty much right where most of us projected preseason. Obviously we all would have liked to overachieve but that just isn't reality.
I forgot which thread we all posted our W/L to reference but I think I had us only losing to Iowa St & WV from here. Flip the Ulala with arky game and I've pretty much called this season.... unfortunately.
Man, we need the portal for about 90% of this team. Skill guys are here but we have almost zero role players.

I disagree. There is no excuse whatsoever to lose the three games like Texas has. NONE. This program is in shambles and the future doesn't look good at all. Other than for financial reasons, joining the SEC is a mistake. Texas is going to get their heads kicked in and embarrassed every week in football. If CDC were smart, he would put off the move to the SEC as long as possible.
That’s an overreaction. 8-4 is still possible and if that’s what they end up doing then that’s about what most of us expected. Our expectations were to high if we expected anything else. New QB and completely new systems on both sides of the ball. At least let Sark get a recruiting class in here before we jump off the cliff. We are still going to have a top 10 recruiting class I believe. Hell Herman never had any problems pulling in top 3 classes and we weren’t any worse off then we were then.
It's not an overreaction at all. So you're ok to lose games the way Texas has and you expected that? Come on, man. This program is a disaster and a national laughingstock, which is incredibly embarrassing and frustrating. The only sure win is Kansas. Probable losses are Baylor, ISU, and WVU. KSU should be a win. I'm not ok with this, nor should any Texas fan be. You're drinking the kool aid. It's not going to happen in our lifetime that Texas is a national power.
Geoff Ketchum was 100% on point in the post game analysis on Youtube. He stated how well Texas come out of the gate by scoring and having a plan. Then, something goes wrong (in today’s instance-Pick 6) or the other team adjusts and starts to make plays-Texas does not respond well. His words “Texas gets hit in the mouth and they don’t respond well-sign of a weak chin”. He went on to say how other coaches like Gundy know this which is why Gundy played aggressive in 4th qtr. 100% truth.
If we lose out like this then we officially become a women's volleyball school.
Which is why I question if the majority of these players have any pride? Too many of them just lay down and take an ass beating.
Some people are ok with Texas being the laughingstock of college football as long as money is being made. People need to quit supporting the program to get the attention of the brass that getting embarrassed week in and week out isn't acceptable. Think it's bad now? Wait 'till Texas is in the SEC. We'll be a sub .500 team every single year. Even as bad as it is now, it's going to get worse in football.
We have been the laughing stock for the last 10 years. You’re way behind. Still think we can win 8 games. We are beating ourselves. The mistakes we are making are correctable. If we can somehow get out of our own way we can finish the season with 8 wins. That’s not drinking the cool aid.
Have you watched much SEC football the last 3-4 years? They don’t play defense in that conference anymore either. Last season 8 of the 12 teams gave up over 30 PPG. Outside of Bama and Georgia that conference isn’t much stronger than the Big 12 this year. Look at our last 3 matchups with SEC opponents and besides the Arkansas game we have fared extremely well. And those teams were average teams Herman had. It won’t be any different than it is now.
We should definitely get a bowl game and 6-6 record.
I'll be satisfied with 7-6. I'll be very happy with 8-5. I'd be ecstatic with 9-4. Not a chance in hell we win out.
I definitely think we can win 7 and don’t think 8-4 is unrealistic although I would be surprised. We beat ourselves today with mistakes. Sark is still going to pull in a good class. Herman’s best recruiting class was 2018 and that was following a 7-6 record that season. So to think he still can’t pull in a good class after a 7 or 8 win season is also ridiculous.

This was a huge recruiting weekend in Austin. Lots of stud recruits were at the game. They were probably all questioning what is wrong with the Texas program and most likely couldn't wait to get back home after another humiliating loss. There is zero chance that Arch Manning signs with Texas. This weekend was a killer for any recruiting momentum.

None of us want a 6 loss season, but if that happens, I won't be wanting Sark fired at the end of this season. Herman and Strong both had 6 losses in their first seasons, not counting the bowls. I'm not saying Sark is at the same level as Herman or Strong, but you have to give new coaches at least one year to turn things around. Now if this doesn't improve in several years, ask me again.
The only way I see us falling out of the top 10 is if we finish 5-7, which would mean we beat Kansas and that is it. As porous as the last two weeks have been, I don't see that happening. I honestly think we figure out a way to go 7-5 and probably win our bowl game for 8-5. We will have a top 6/7 class with that.
You're more optimistic than most fans. I've lost all hope for anything positive this season. This program sucks the life out of even the most loyal Texas fans.
Did you read what I said? I said I think we could win 7 and I don’t think 8 is unrealistic although I would be surprised. Not sure how that’s called being a clueless fan when I’m projecting 3-2 realistically over the next 5 games?
