An excellent read that covers 12 soldiers and Dutch citizens over a 6 year period 1940-1946 and the promise to care for the graves of the American soldiers who perished freeing the Dutch citizens.
I read most of what I can about WW2 and this is one of the better readings I have had in awhile. It is a 2025 book written by the same author of Monuments Men, Robert Edsel. One of the soldiers covered in the book is Robert Cole who earned the Medel of Honor.
