Decided to watch it all over again.

You know we were on life support in the 1st quarter. It wasn't until the Reggie Bush failed lateral that we found our footing.

Man our guys were suffering from cramps big time. A lot of guys had to come out of the game some more than once.

Do you remember that SC had a 34 game winning streak going into the game?

After the Michael Griffin pick our offense got untracked and when they did our ol was magnificent.

The unsung hero on Vince's game winner was Justin Blalock. 4 of the 5 starters played in the NFL.

Thank you Pete Carroll for leaving Reggie Bush on the sidelines on the biggest play of the season.

After that game the SEC started their domination that exists to this day.

Classic. What are your memories 16 years later?

An offensive line that Bijan would kill to have.

A secondary that could cover you with a blanket or knock your fvcking lights out.

Linebackers that nobody remembers but were the ball hawking-est turds on the field.

And a QB that they gave 10 seconds too many to.

I went back and watched that 2005 Ohio State game in the horseshoe. I truly forgot how all around great that 2005 team was. They had no weaknesses on offense or defense. Ohio State was a damn good team that year and if not for that fumble late in the 4th they probably beat us and who knows how the rest of the season goes. I then found myself down the rabbit hole of watching some other games from that 2005 season. I also forgot how damn good Jamal Charles was as a freshman that year.

I remember the after game interviews....Pete Carrol was aske about that last play where they went for it on 4th and 3 I think, and gave the ball to Lindale White....he said Lindel had made yardage on every play....but they went for it because they were unable to ....."stop the quarterback"( meaning Vince)...then they asked Matt Linhart the same question....he said "....we were unable to stop the quarterback"

They knew Vince was unstoppable....and Vince knew he was unstoppable

I think that last play was 4th and less than a yard if I remember correctly. And he is right about Lendale. He was averaging over 6 yards a carry in that game.

SC had scored on 5 straight possessions why not go for it. Still should have had Reggie Bush in the game.

And the officiating was brilliant. That play where Vince's knee was clearly down but he pitched it back and we scored. Genius officiating 😊

We would have scored on the next couple of plays anyway.

My favorite non-football part was when the sideline reporter's (Holly Rowe?) first question was to Matt Leinart. She was on the wrong side of the field and the whole ABC crew was sure USC had it in the bag. She had to scramble over to find Vince. I laughed at how foolish she looked. How many times do you interview the losing team first?

that game-- the facemask on 3rd and long on that last drive was yooge.
that season-- ramonce jumps off the screen. what coulda been

Now imagine that team with WRs like Roy Williams, BJ Johnson and Sloane Thomas.....

I’ll go out on a limb here, but our current core of wr’s might hold their own. Especially those coming in next year.
But don’t want to divert away from the thread topic.

Maybe those receivers weren't the best group we've ever had but Sweed, Pittman, Taylor were brilliant that season.

And don't forget David Thomas.

The greatest individual performance I have ever seen. The brighter the lights, the better Vince was.

I was working detectives at the time. One of my squad mates was a huge USC fan and he threw a gameday party. We traded insults throughout the game but man, when the 'Horns were down 12 with less than 7 minutes to go, my partner really started slinging the shit...Needless to say I enjoyed watching his demeanor shift to utter disbelief when VY scored on his 4th down run. After that game, I changed my ringtone to Texas Fight, just to drive him crazy....good days...

I got off work early that day. Put a hamburger patty in the skillet. Turned on the burner. While it heated up, turned on Orange Bloods to get any new updates. When the smoke alarm started chirping, I woke out of my OB trance. I knew i had fked up. Opened all the windows, turned on all the fans. Luckily all the smell was gone by the time my wife got home. and thenThe Game. What a pressure packed day.
