Yeah but I don’t think our issue was stopping the run as much as the pass. Rice will run run run. We should be fine but won’t get a test in the secondary until conference play.

Speaking of corner, how is Kenyatta Watson not getting a shot? I know he's just a freshman, but a highly touted one. With the way our corners are looking, it seems like he would at least get a look. No way he can be worse than Boyce, or is he not living up to his recruiting hype?

He is outdoing his recruiting hype. There are a handful of 5 star CBs each year and even they are unlikely to start for a school like Texas. Watson was a solid 4 star, number 16 CB in the nation. It is impressive he is on the depth chart at this point considering the talent in front of him.

I do hear your point though and I'm sure if he was outperforming those in front of him in practice he would be getting a shot. Perhaps it takes a few bad showings for the coaches to really start giving a true freshmen a legit look and it does sound like Watson has impressed early.

We were running a lot of cover 6 and cover 8. Cover 6 is a combination of cover 2 and cover 4 (quarters) but you man up on the outside with the corners. We don't have two corners we can trust in man to man.

Our D line has had zero push thus far.
