I mentioned it in my Tuesday lunchtime notes thread, but Texas has been in touch with a new prospect to the Longhorns' radar. I did speak with the prospect briefly but he doesn't really want the details put out there right now and I'm going to respect his wishes. I believe there are still some moving parts to this one, and he's probably trying to process the late interest. If he gives me the okay, which he said he would at some point, I'll obviously provide the details. We could get a resolution on this story as early as tomorrow, but we've also heard there are some close to him that would like him to take a step back and re-evaluate his options.

While I've got you ... rumor mill tonight says that contact between Armani Winfield and Michigan State has died down. Tough one to predict but this could be an in-state battle between Texas and Baylor down the stretch. OB plans to be at Winfield's signing ceremony tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
