Should Horns pull for the B12 @ the final 2 (4/8)?

Why would we cheer for tech tard? Seriously....... First of all, conference coat tail riders are pathetic. See aggy. Second, anytime your conference mate wins something that significant it has a detrimental effect on YOUR recruiting. Some people say it benefits the conference as a whole, and I agree, it USED to. But not these days. These days it's not about the conference, it's about the individual. In the past everyone knew the ACC and Big East were the two top to bottom basketball conferences. if you wanted to play basketball, you went there. Now if you want to play basketball you go to a select few schools--- Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan state etc--- singular identity is the new standard and affiliation has gone the way of the also rans.

How much does being in the (most) superior conference help recruiting:)

It used to---- but society and kids have changed. Look, back in the day, you just wanted to play football. If you had options, you wanted to play where you loved the facility, people and got to play against some bad ass schools.
Now every kid thinks they will be a first round draft pick and they go to the school that gives them the best chance to do that. Instead of playing for a school out of love, you're making a business decision.

"The greatness of a warrior is measured by the strength of his enemies." First, I root for all things Texas, and that includes the Aggies. If you're in Texas, from Texas, or have any association with Texas, then I am for you, because Texas truly is a state of mind...and a state of heart.

After the Texas thing, It is regional with me, and that includes Oklahoma! - Hell, half the kids playing for them are from Texas. I want to beat my greatest rivals like a rented mule, and then, I want them to beat everyone else they play. It becomes an esprit de corps thing with me. It is about family, and all those other things closest to me.

& after Horns (also) W the Omaha final 8 then B12 is the REAL conference of champions:)

In a word yes like I said on another thread and others on this thread it's a matter of TX pride for me. It's not TT's fault that they've done more with less than TX at men's bb.

I won't root for the aggys until the purge, zombie apocalypse, or 2nd civil war starts. At that point, I'm joining forces with those farmers. But not until then.

I'm pulling for Tech tomorrow night because they're a Texas school (nothing to do with rooting for the Big 12). I like to see Texas schools do well nationally, except for aggy.

Guns up!

Although I'm pulling for TT I'm not about to sing the Matador song lol

I'm pulling for Tech because its basketball and I don't give a rat's ass about college basketball. Plus, I'm a sucker for the underdog like Tech who has never done jack in anything. It would be nice for them to get something to be proud of that they can hang over the aggsy head just to prove that the aggy are still nothing in any sport.

I'm still trying to figure out why the fans went full West Virginia after that game......what they have left if they win tonight???? And I went there for 2 years.

I'm rooting for TTech over Virginia but it really has nothing to do with conference affiliation for me.

Rectum Tech!

I'll pull for any team from the state of Texas when they are playing a non-UT team, doesn't have "Horns Down" or sawed off Horns decals on their vehicle, or does not do the horns down sign at a game where they are not playing the Longhorns...

Are we going to find out in a few years that the lady BB team was running around campus raping dudes?
Mulkey is the ultimate disciplinarian. She has dismissed multiple high profile recruits. If we are going to blame Briles for recruiting "bad dudes" - we need to tip our hat to Mulkey for doing it the right way. Or at least refrain from cheap shots. Doesn't matter - I'm too happy today to get riled up. Sic'em Bears!

How about those Baylor Lady Bears!

Congrats, diadevic. Mulkey has cemented her status as one of the very best coaches in the history of women's college basketball. In the last 15 seasons, Baylor has gone from a total non-entity in the sport to ranking third in national championships among all programs. Just remarkable.

Can't say I was pulling for any team with Mulkey in charge, which won't be any surprise to you. But you're also about the only reason I feel slightly bad for rooting against Baylor teams. :)

We've had two of the worst scandals in the history of mankind, and through it all she has been our shining light. She deserves every accolade that comes her way. I'm as cheap as they come, but I'd buy the PPV for Mulkey vs. Rousey in the Octagon. She is a tough old boot - never bet against her!

I don't think it's a cheap shot--- I think it's more of a tongue in cheek whistle past the grave yard. Mulkey has done a great job in every aspect of the program, save one.

Whomever is in charge of her clothing choices has got to go. It's like Stanley Tucci dressed her for her entrance into the Hunger Games.

There was a relatively odd moment last night when Lauren Cox went down with injury (hope she recovers fully) and Mulkey come out on the court to check on her. As the medical staff is checking her out, Mulkey is seen rubbing her inner thigh. Not patting her on the knee, but doing the little thumb rub on the inner thigh that every dude has done to his girl. I know there was nothing to it, but seemed extremely awkward nonetheless.

I told my wife while that was happening -- she better be careful - the nation is watching! I wondered if anyone else saw it. If Biden was the coach, he might've been escorted straight to prison.

I took it as a joke -- it made me snort -- and not as a cheap shot against Mulkey.

The girl in the pink evening gown. Was that KM's daughter? Gotta admit good looking chick.

What's the story with the baby they were toting all over the place last night? ESPN mentioned something about it but I didn't have the TV up loud enough to hear.

Mulkey has held the baby in all of her interviews this season. Her daughter, Mackenzie, played for the Lady Bears a few years ago. She lost a child to miscarriage in November, 2017. Mulkey has referred to the miscarried child as her first grand child. I think there is an added amount of gratitude, and proud grand parenting, for the second one.

i actually lost even more respect for ag when, prior to our NCG with USC, i saw the decals and shirts with the horns taped back on or something, with the phrase "for one night only", or some such. talk about piggy-backing big brother. i mean, hate is hate, for crying out loud.

Was her daughter the one in pink?

I’m not one to defend aggy for anything, but I think ~99.5% of them (conservative estimate) found that disgusting. I enjoyed it for how much it pissed most of them off.

Well said, and we need someone with a whip and cat of 9 tails to keep the the damned Aggies in line until we meet them on the field of battle again!
