The fiscal season in the NCAA seems to end at the end of June after the CWS ends.

Look at what's happened the at the end of June the last 2 years. TX and OK announced they were leaving for the SEC. Last year SC and UCLA said they were leaving for the Big X.

In a couple of weeks well get news that will be the beginning of the end for the Pac XII. I think WA and OR will jump to the Big X. Whether they take their little brothers with them remains to be seen.

It's not a secret that Big XII commissioner Bret Yormans has his eye on the corner states schools he'll get them.

I'm not sure where ST and Cal will go. It wouldn't surprise me if ST goes independent.

Why money of course. Larry Scott broke the Pac XII and I suspect that George Kliavkoff is pining for a Big X job. After TX and OK announced they were leaving Bret Yormans didn't waste any time. He added 4 decent programs and the corner states schools are a good fit.

Yormans has done everything possible to save the Big XII. Scott and Kliavkoff didn't care they've taken a Big X or bust approach and let the cards fall where they may.

At the heart of this issue are Stanford and Cal. The little 8 smurfs of the Big 12 say that Texas is arrogant, well they ain't never been to Stanford or Cal. These places reek of intellectual pride. They are asshats to the highest degree. They destroyed the Pac 12 with their reluctance to work with schools that don't meet their intellectual greatness. Anyway, I hope they rot and that no one wants to be near them....

Stanford is not spending money on athletics. That's why I think they're going to go independent nobody goes to their games anyway. And if SC, UCLA, and ND end their rivalries with them they'll deserve it.

Tiger Woods and Condoleeza Rice are nobody?

What's that got to do with the future of Stanford athletics?

Condoleeza Rice did not graduate from Stanford. The Hoover institute is not affiliated with Stanford University.

Alright, Herbert Hoover class of 1895!

Not exactly. The Hoover Institute is almost entirely funded by private donations and endowments. It is physically located on the grounds of Stanford and the Hoover Tower is one of the iconic images of the campus. I had the pleasure of touring it once. The University does provide the buildings and maintenance which equate to about 3-4% of the annual budget. The director of the Hoover Institute also reports to the President of Stanford University. So while students and most faculty don't like the association between a "progressive" world class university and a center-right world class think tank, there is no denying the two are joined together.

But Stanford doesn't have any involvement with who is on the faculty at Hoover.

My point was, because they are Stanford and because they have so many powerful and influencial alumni and political affiliations they won't ever be irrelevant.
