fire the Offensive Coordinator and hire Major Applewhite ...

It is not rocket science … we need a new Offensive Coordinator ...

Major will be the new offensive coordinator next year. Defensive coordinator is still being searched as we speak.

I don't know who the OC needs to be. One thing I am certain of, it is not Beck. In fact we need an entire new group of assistant coaches, nothing but the very best available and we can afford the best. Herman needs to be on a short leash. He has 2020 to prove he deserves he will be here in 2021.

I am sure everybody remembers Manny Diaz' failures as defensive coordinator. But, remember how during the season, Mack hires Greg Robinson as a consultant whereby there was somewhat of a smooth transition from Manny to Robinson. There is an article. I didn't link it because I am not sure if I can post competing websites info here. Anyway, the title is "
Chronicling the final moments of Manny Diaz and return of Greg Robinson". Might we be seeing the same thing here from Beck to Fedora?

Let's just detail our major offensive weaknesses in no particular order:

1) Sam is inaccurate downfield. He isn't horrible, but, may be average or slightly above. Puts pressure on our limited short game. The run game or lack of run game we have witnessed and the failing screen passes we love.

2) OC doesn't adjust very well

3) NFL and successful universities effectively use the tight end as a counter to some of these defenses that "disrespect" our offense. I have accepted that Beck or Herman or both just have it as a low priority and that is fine, They definitely know more football than me.

4) Offensive line issues going on since 2013 or so. I can't explain it. Seems like our recruiting efforts always center around wide receivers and defensive backs.

My question: I am not familiar with Fedora's offenses. Does he have a good offensive mind? I know he has a good reputation, otherwise he would have never gotten the HC at UNC. Does he believe in the downfield pass, or is he a short game type like Greg Davis? I hope somebody can shed some light. This next pick of who to hire at OC, if Herman were to actually go through with it, is crucial because it will definitely alter his coaching future.

Fedora is a good offensive mind. If he was so highly thought of, he'd have been hired as a HC already and if not, would be getting his name mentioned as vacancies come open.

Why do we devalue the TE position so much? Look at OU they churn out NFL TE’s year after year. A big tall TE that can come across the middle and pick up 8-10 yards on 3rd down is invaluable in my opinion.

I don't think he devalues TE's, he just hasn't been able to land one that can do all that.

Although looking at it, Fedora joined the team in February and the offense didn't start sucking buttermilk until what, about a month ago?
According to sources Fedora is moving on anyway, so His Consultancy won't be a factor going forward.
At minimum, I think Beck gets shown the door come Monday.
Applewhite ain't coming back nor should he. This is CTH's chance to show he is up for the job and to bring on an effective full time OC

People we should consider:

Joe Brady - LSU Passing Game Coordinator
Mike Yurcich - Ohio State Passing Game Coordinator
Rhett Lashlee - SMU Offensive Coordinator
Warren Ruggerio - Wake Forest Offensive Coordinator
Tim Albin - Ohio Offensive Coordinator
Major

The guy I want is the DL coach from Ohio State. Look at what he has helped recruit and develop there...crazy good.

I'm not sure why he would leave Ohio State for Texas.

I would consider Baylor's Dline coach.

I wonder if Mike Lafleur (San Francisco’s passing game coordinator and Matt Lafleur’s broher) would take the OC?
