This is good news for Tom Herman. Orlando leaving would of made a tough task even harder. He’s gonna need the defense to not drop off much.
the players can get over it. if the players like you too much, it's a red flag. sorry if you don't understand why. also, i've seen Texas play defense with Todd Orlando in charge, and I've seen Texas play special teams with Traylor in charge-- forgive me if i pick orlando 14 times a day and 15 on sunday. as for dykes, he fits the mold. they want offense first guys there apparently, and i get it-- at mid-majors that's probably the smart thing to do because you can scheme and trick somebody on offense if you have slightly less talent, but that's harder on defense. boise state model i suppose.
Trey Quinn, their leading receiver this year, has another year of eligibility. Don't know if he would come back, but he has a year. The QB was a sophomore this year.
I really thought Dykes would end up at Texas Tech like his dad when Kingsbury was fired,however Sam throwing his pick and Texas losing ended that thought.Dykes did not do that well at Cal but really not the right place for a kid growing up in Lubbock and I do not think he liked the Berkeley lifestyle.
What's wrong with dudes that smell like reefer and patchouli oil and girls that don't shave their legs, armpits or crotch?We could certainly liven up the board discussing that one.

Honestly I kinda like the smell of patchouli oil. In soaps and stuff....not on homeless hippies.
I thought the "L" word might come up in a board discussion on Berkeley. Then I would be called a racist who supported Nixon's southern strategy and voted for George Wallace.
