All these schools dropping out of bowl games need to be penalized. Banning them from post season or having them (and not the conference) pay the other school and the bowl for losses. In fact they should pay the rest of their own conference as well.

Dropping out should also be considered a loss in their record.

It is such a confidence that Covid only attacks lowly schools playing in low tier bowls!

Bama has many on the coaching staff with Covid....but they didnt pull out...
Missouri wishes they would have pulled out, but aTm hit the rip cord almost as soon as matchups were announced.

There is no upside for many of these teams in these matchups. We would be better served by having 4 16 team divisions with a pod format and scrap the stupid bowls. I don't watch any of them unless Texas is playing. A 16 team playoff starting within the conferences would be worth watching.

From a selfish standpoint I agree to increase the numbers of teams significantly if for nothing else that it will sway these opt out players to stick it out for their teammates, if there is something on the line.

It’s funny that people are so Obsessed with the player opt outs. Half these bowl teams barely have coaching staffs because their head coach was either fired or left for another job. Hell Brian Kelly was a Alabama loss from missing a playoff game. If coaches aren’t going to treat bowl games like they matter why would the players? And coaches have been doing this a lot longer

I’m sure they are cool with it. Yeah it sucks, yeah it’s disappointing but many of them will have much bigger and better things ahead of them.
