I was pretty sure this would happen.

It goes like this:

Levy is cheap
We don’t have a squad to really compete across multiple fronts
We have an injury crisis
Ange realizes we cannot win in the league and the Cup
Goes for Glory, wins, because that’s what he does (in his second seasons and generally)

Now Levy has a choice - admits Ange is a winner, builds up the squad to compete in Champions league, spends to compete with top teams (hahaha) - this means the squad depth is Levy’s fault.

Or

Takes this cup and champions league win, sacks Ange so the league form is 100 percent Ange’s fault, hires a mid level plodder (not horrible but also not exciting, maybe Frank he will be Poch, but I doubt it),

Now it’s Ange’s fault, Levy fixed it and he won’t spend like he needs to (surprise surprise). He sees this season like a get out of jail free card. Frank is Levy’s man, can compete sort of but more importantly ON THE CHEAP.

Sure our league form was awful and could have been better, then again we were 5th last year which suggests with this squad we can be 5-10 with a little cup pragmatism and reversion to the mean

Dear Levy, we aren’t fooled, you are no Jedi, I know exactly what droids we are looking for.

To Ange, Captain my Captain, take your money and my thanks. I think we will regret this.

Hope springs eternal for Spurs fans, but this feels kind of sad, COYS.

Levy out
