Dudes off to a very good start! Dropped 38 last night on KD and the Suns. Spurs have beaten them twice in the last few days.
Different game now. Those behaviors now would get you fouls called and possibly technicals, then ejected. As drtx mentioned, this kid is only 19. Even shaq and The Dream were skinny when 19. Come back in five years and we can revisit body shape.I'd give anything to see a true big defender from the past, body that kid up.
Patrick Ewing would beat him to within an inch of his life. Mutombo would elbow the kid until his kidneys ruptured.
The game has turned into a spot shooting competition.
For sure, the way the game was played back then he would get broke in half by those guys. Nowadays, you can't even breathe on anyone it seems. That's why we see scoring so high now. Back then, it wasn't unusual to see final scores like 85-76. Today, that's a halftime score.I'd give anything to see a true big defender from the past, body that kid up.

Hell no the pistons were out to hurt people, that’s not basketball. For sure, the way the game was played back then he would get broke in half by those guys. Considering the way things are now, Wemby is going to pretty much have his way out there.
I much preferred the physical, grind out game of the past to today's finesse/motion game.
I loved the Pistons! Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer were as nasty as anyone in any sport. They would look to hurt someone every game and the opponents knew it was coming. Back in those days, every team had to have a couple of guys like that who were enforcers. Knicks had Charles Oakley, Sixers had Barkley, Bulls had Bill Cartwright and Will Perdue, Jazz had Malone and Mark Eaton. Spurs had nobody like that back then. They tried with the Bruise Brothers - Mark Olberding, Billy Paultz and Paul Griffin but they were nowhere near as talented as those other guys mentioned above.Hell no the pistons were out to hurt people, that’s not basketball.
