Status of Fowler?

Prior to season so much conversation about EF..Has anyone heard any updates on his status? With Roach progressing, should he red shirt? I understand he was projected to play Fox End..

Don't expect to see him this year. He is way behind from how late he qualified.

24/7 says two freshmen close to getting playing time are DE Erick Fowler and OL Patrick Hudson.

Hudson would've played against UTEP if he didn't have a minor injury and the staff wants to get Fowler on the field somehow even if it's through special teams.

his athleticism and natural fit are at linebacker.

Outside of QBs and some OL and injury issues I don't see this staff using the RS much. If you end up with a RS and don't fall into one of those categories, that's a potential red flag. Not meaning that's the end of your career but I think Strong values PT over a redshirt for development. Even if it's just special teams or garbage time. Plus if you are recruiting at a high level, you don't want a spot tied up for 5 years.
