It's all about making plays
It's all about execution
It's all about winning games
It's all about scoring more points than the other team
It's all about fundamentals
It's all about coaching better and playing better

My feel is this press conference will be a major player in whether he survives the year or not. It will be very interesting to hear how he phrases his answers and statements.

He doesn't know what to say. What DO you say? He's not stupid. He hears the whispers that have grown into rumblings and now into shrieks.

I feel bad for the guy- I sincerely do- but when you get into the ring with someone above your weight class, sometimes you bite off more than you can chew. We are going to find out over the next few weeks if charlie can punch above his weight class.

What do you want him to say? If you're looking for him to say he sucks and quits because he's not worthy then you're going to be waiting for awhile. He knows his job is on the line and that's all that matters. He either fixes this quickly or he doesn't and we'll start looking for a new HC.

I hear ya, but there was a noticeable difference. A true tale of two halves.
Ok...... I will play that game.

We went into the half down 12. We ended the game down 18. I think we can all agree that Gundy managed the game in the 2nd half. Less urgency than the first half. A chance to beat Texas at HOME for the first time in his tenure. Pretty certain he pulled back the reigns just a tad to avoid any stupid mistakes. But regardless, we had our deficit increased in the 2nd half.

If you're all about the "lesser" of two evils, then fine, you win. But it's akin to being the skinniest kid at fat camp....

I agree, lots of mistakes... SUCH AS. The 3rd and 10 turnover by the freshmens poor read and they punched it in for the easy 1 yard TD in the third, followed up by two field goals in the forth. Cruise control was set, sorta.

Texas losing both big backs helped their cause.

I'm going to start coming off as defending this performance or Strong and crew, and I am not. I was just as mad as anyone. But I'll repeat here what I said on other threads. OSU was not playing conservative for a vast majority of the second half. This was a two score game with both teams scoring at will going into half time. In fact if not for the PAT debacles it would have been a one score game. There isn't much to like about what our D did, there was a noticeable difference in the second half.

That will be word for word pretty much. lol

Strong may not be able to say it, but I will. He called the defense in the 2nd half

Do we know this or is it speculation? I wasn't around a TV during the game and do not want to watch the replay. Was he seen on the sideline calling plays?

It's speculation on my part, but there were noticeable differences, and there was that exchange during the first half where Strong appeared to be chewing on Vance and Vance walked away. I wouldn't of been schocked in the least if Strong took the D at halftime after that.

It is time to move ahead with a different coach. The problem is that we're already getting a new Athletic Director. We are in a bind. The pain will continue.

By Saturday afternoon he will either take over the defense and it will improve a lot, or he will have Saturdays off next year. Just give it a week, it will be obvious by then anyway.
