Sunday 6:10 p.m. update - A few notes of interest ...
- There are rumors of a third visitor being on campus, but I was told by a source at UT that nobody visited other than Dontavious Jackson and Chris Brown visited today.
- D'andre Christmas-Giles had mentioned the possibility of committing on Monday. He is now planning to wait until National Signing Day.
- Charlie Strong did talk to Erick Fowler's father today. I'm told it was a short conversation but it went very well. No real details other than that.
- I just spoke UT commitment Malcolm Roach's father to get an update following Roach's official visit to South Carolina.
"He had a great visit but he's fine (with Texas). He's fine," Mr. Roach said.
Roach was tweeting pro-Texas things during the visit so this was pretty much expected, but it doesn't look like there's any reason to worry about this one. Expect Roach to sign with Texas on Wednesday.

Let the countdown officially begin. We're less than 72 hours from National Signing Day and most prospects are finishing up their final weekend of official visits.
Some notes on a few of Texas' top targets ...
According to a source close to the situation, Silsbee offensive lineman Patrick Hudson continues to lean Baylor's way, but things are not yet 100 percent decided.
"Patrick is still leaning towards Baylor. A lot of schools have still been talking with him. He thinks they're all good schools, so it's a really challenging decision. He really did enjoy himself at Texas and Baylor and Georgia."
Hudson, of course, has been committed to Baylor for about 18 months, but Texas is making it interesting down the stretch. I asked my source if Hudson's decision had been finalized, or if Texas could still make a late push.
"I think he's kind of finalized it. He's probably going to go with Baylor. "But he knows he has a lot of good opportunities out there. All of them are very good schools, but right now he's really leaning towards Baylor.
"But you just never know. He's prayed about it. Nowadays just never know. He'll just wait until February 3 before making anything final."
Basically, Hudson continues to lean Baylor's way but his decision is not yet finalized. His longstanding relationship with the Baylor staff has put Baylor out in front, but there is still a chance Texas could win out over the next few days.

Things have been pretty quiet with Dontavious Jackson's visit, but that's not unexpected since Jackson has shut it down in terms of media interviews.
We'll continue to check around on this one, but I'm sticking with my stance that if he made the visit to UT, the Longhorns would win out with a commitment over Florida State. I still think that's the case.

I'm hearing Texas' in-home with Erick Fowler on Saturday went very well. The coaches met with Fowler, his mother and Fowler's cousin.
Fowler's father was unable to be at the meeting due to work commitments, but he and Charlie Strong are supposed to talk sometime on Sunday.
In talking to one source on Saturday night, this one really is still a coin flip between Texas and his current commitment to LSU. Texas feels it's about 50/50 and it isn't settled yet. Fowler's parents will support him whatever he decided, but his mom would prefer to have him close to home.
This one's tough to call right now, but my gut tells me after Charlie Strong gets some time talking to Fowler's father, the Longhorns could head into the home stretch with the slightest of leads.

There's been some talk this weekend that A&M is making a move for Brandon Jones.
Jones has finished up his Baylor visit. I still think Texas is the team to beat here, but I can tell you all that those rumors have been picking up steam and both Texas and Baylor are watching closely to see what is going to happen over the next few days.
Basically, don't count A&M out of it just yet, but I still like where Texas sits as of right now.

Checked with a source at OU to get a feel for Mark Jackson's official visit to Oklahoma, but all is quiet on that front.
