So this gentleman I work with has a son that came into town to visit. So the son is here for a couple of days and is running a high fever etc. and ends up going to the ER, they find he’s got Typhus and sepsis. The next day he’s on a vent and dialysis, today, approx a week after going to the ERand being admitted he’s having both arms amputated right below the elbow. Apparently typhus comes from lice infected with the bacteriahttps://www.cedars-sinai.org/newsroom/typhus-vs-typhoid-fever-whats-the-difference/

Wow. Prayers for their family. I hope his doctor isn’t Henry Gordon (Kings Row book/movie)

Where was he from? Is this stuff spreading in the US? This is actaully an issue when the covid was not. Was it spread through lice, fleas or turd on someone's hand? This was eradicated in the USA decades ago.

Between the ones we know about and the ones nobody sees, there's been probably close to 10M people cross the border into this country in the past couple of years. I would guess 95% of them have either very limited or no vaccination record at all. I'm guessing things like this are going to get more prevalent over the next couple of years.

Houstoni I would assume it was spread by lice

Same could be said about the assholes in my trailer park and they’ve been hygeinicallly challenged for years

Don't forget malaria. Eradicated in the US by DDT decades ago. Now 3 new cases.

I just found out this guy doesnt have a job and probably no insurance. Dang, he's 35, must be holding out for a managers position

Malaria isn't transmitted human to human. The immigrants may have it, but they can't spread it.
The mosquitos transmit the virus from the immigrants by sucking their blood and comingling with yours. That's how it's transmitted.

The same can be said for the bacteria that causes typhus or the black plague for that matter. It's back as well. Lice and or fleas bite an infected animal and carry the bacteria after consuming the blood. Once they bite a human, the human is infected.

Well that’s FREAKING AWESOME!
Vote Democrat 2024!!
We’re bringing the Black Death Back!!!

Well at least it’s a real pandemic, so shutting down the whole country’s economy will accomplish a large part of their agenda, though it may put a dent in reparations amounts

I think the discovery of antibiotics and modern sanitation practices pretty much closes the door that now.

Check it out--
I've been to Africa several times and always taken my Malarone (sp) while there, I've had all the Vax stuff you can imagine- even Anthrax--(that was fvcking fun)-- but I've got a buddy that went over to Angola on a contracting gig, last minute- he calls me the other day and the poor bastard has malaria AND typhoid. Double whammy.

They can get bitten by mosquitoes which move on to another human. They just need someone carrying the parasite.

Malaria was first brought to North America by the ENGLISH Colonists. Before they came to Jamestown there was no such thing. Jamestown itself was established in a swampy area (all the good land was already taken). Perhaps not directly human to humad, but definitely via a third party.

Fact is (and I have this on good authority) that the mosquito union was seeking reparations in US Federal court for infecting their ancestors....

Ok.... I'm just going to say it--

They cut off his arms, they're cutting off his legs.....

Now-- if this is a long-con joke you're telling-- just say it now. If it's really happening, then I'm truly sorry.

But if you tell me they've cut off his arms and his leg and then they throw him in a pond and name him "Bob"----- yo, ima be pissed.
