What they dont tell you is if he comes out and wins they won’t even remember Penn State. Don’t like the hire that’s all well and good but it’s not based on some kind of moral standard.
I look at it this way... Based solely on his coaching track recored at Rutgers Schiano should be a HC at some power 5 school from 2006-2011 at Rutgers he was :

Not hiring him because of the Penn State stuff to me is pretty silly. He was a DB coach. Does anyone really think him saying something would of changed it? Peternio already knew. Also letting fan reaction cause you to attempt to back out of hiring a coach is an interesting precedent. I don’t know what Schiano would do at Tennessee or anywhere else but he certainly has earned a power 5 job one would think.

Wow Tennessee is gonna have to compensate Schiano in some way. They apperently signed a memorandum of understanding to make him the coach and have informed his reps they are backing out. Don’t think you get to do that for free... what a cluster... who in the hell is gonna take that job now? Lol

Tennessee: Sources tell FootballScoop, Tennessee and Greg Schiano had an understanding of terms earlier in the day; but UT is now backing out of the agreement. Greg Schiano’s side, we’re told, is seeking compensation in connection with breaking the agreement. This is…not normal. Update>ESPN and Yahoo are both now reporting UT has backed out of the agreement as well.
Gruden would not last a week with Jerry Jones telling him what and how to do it.
Which is why for most or jerry’s tenure as cowboy owner he hasn’t really had coaches with successful track recoreds. He and Jimmy eventually couldn’t work together. Parcells was there for a couple years that didn’t work out great. All the other guys have been guys that Jerry could pretty much control.
