TODD JOINS TEXAS ATHLETICS MEDIA RELATIONS STAFF
Veteran of three years in Major League Baseball serves as primary contact for Longhorns baseball program.
Austin -- Carli Todd has been named Assistant Media Relations Director at The University of Texas. Among her responsibilities, Todd will serve as the primary contact for baseball and handle game day press box coordination for football. She began her duties at Texas on February 1, replacing Justin Moore, who is now Director of Athletics Communications at George Washington University.
Todd comes to Texas with a great deal of experience in baseball communications. She served as Senior Coordinator of Communications for Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays for the past three years. During her time with the Rays, she had the opportunity to work with MLB’s public relations staff at the 2015 All-Star Game in Cincinnati.
Prior to her time in MLB, Todd spent about a year and a half as a graduate assistant in DePaul University’s athletics communications office, serving as the Blue Demons’ primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and track and field.
A 2011 graduate of the University of Tampa with a degree in sport management, Todd was a two-time CoSIDA scholarship recipient (2009, undergraduate; 2012, Wylie Smith postgraduate) and spent four years working as a student assistant in the Spartans sports information department. She advanced to the role of primary contact for baseball and men’s soccer during her tenure as a student at Tampa and was named the school’s Sport Management Student of the Year in 2011. Todd also gained experience as an intern with the Rays communications staff during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Prior to college, the New Jersey native spent nine months as an intern for the former minor league hockey club the Trenton Devils.
