The Longhorns top ranked 2024 recruiting class got better today as the Horns secured the commitment of OF Donovan Jordan.

Jordan plays high school ball at Summer Creek in the greater Houston area and has been a standout both in high school and on the camp circuit. During his Junior season, Jordan hit for a .424 average with a 1.049 OPS and struck out just 4 times in 120 ABs in route to being a 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-State (6A) selection.

The best comparison that I have heard is a thicker Dylan Campbell with more speed. Much like Campbell who was drafted in the 4th Round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Dodgers, Donovan Jordan has exceptionally strong hands and great bat speed. Donovan has a short compact swing that stays through the zone for hard contact where he can drive the ball well, but also shows off some natural pop. While he is a bit stockier than DC, Donovan is quick on the base paths, boasting a 6.43 (60 yard) and was timed at 4.1 down the line (Home to 1B), both of which are very good.

Donovan becomes the 21st member of the Texas Longhorn 2024 recruiting class.
