The Horns are back in action tonight as they make the trip out to Cali to face off against the Cal State Fullerton Titans. You know that Augie will be looking down on this game with a smile and a drink as his fingerprints and DNA are very much apart of both programs.
Both teams come into the weekend needing a series win as they both have scuffled a bit to start the season, though both teams have played some top competition (#1 LSU, #2 Stanford, #8 Arkansas and #10 Vandy). For the Horns, they need the starting pitching and bullpen to continue to shove, as they have been doing. Offensively, the Horns needs to be multiple and look to manufacture runs in any way that they can while defensively they have to play a solid brand of baseball and limit throwing errors. For Cal State Fullerton, it is all about pitching. Do they have the arms to keep the Horns in check to allow their offense to battle against the Texas pitching staff.
I predicted that Texas will go 2-1 over the weekend, but realistically, this will be a very tight affair at least on paper and could go a myriad of ways.
