Let's play TWO! Due to inclement weather on Friday, the weekend series was significantly shifted around and the Longhorns and Gamecocks will play two games today in the double header to decide the series. In game one on Saturday afternoon, Texas jumped on the board early with a towering homerun to dead center, that had there not been a 20mph wind would have easily cleared the batters eye and then some. Hansen did not have his best outing yesterday giving up 5 runs in 7 IP, but he held it together and kept Texas in the game with a chance to win. Augie Garrido always preached that you should never lose an inning and Texas did just that after giving up a 3 spot in the first by bouncing back to take a 4-3 lead. In the 5th inning Texas put up more another crooked number when Faltine blasted a homerun to RF that landed (eventually) in the parking lot. On the season, Faltine (4) trails only Ivan (6) in the HR department and has shown really nice ability this season adjust to the pitching and create production. In the 8th inning, Ivan really put the game out of reach when again blasted a homerun to left center that has the twitterverse on tilt due to his bat flip that flew 20+ feet towards the pitcher (see video below). Jared Southard closed out the game in the 9th inning as Aaron Nixon had been under the weather the day before.

Programming Note - the first pitch today will be at 12:30 CST and first game of the DH today will be 7 innings. Game two of the DH will follow up afterwards.

All-time series with South Carolina: Texas leads, 7-0
SERIES DATES AND TIMES
Sunday, March 13 – Game One - (12:30 p.m. CT)
Pitching Matchups:
Texas - RHP Tristan Stevens 3-0, 0.00 ERA, 19 IP, 13 H, 2 BB, 14 SO
South Carolina - RHP Wes Sanders 2-0, 2.37 ERA, 19 IP, 15 H, 5 R, 5 BB and 22 SO
Thoughts - South Carolina moved their Friday night ace to game one of the DH today as it is only 7 innings and I fully expect an injury ravaged South Carolina pitching staff to try and use only Sanders in game one to help set up game two this afternoon. Can Texas get to the pre-season All SEC caliber pitcher and knock him out of the game?
