Do or Do Not. There is no try.

The Horns have their backs against the wall again and it is win and survive or go home time.

After losing an extra innings heart breaker to the #3 overall national seed and rival Texas A&M Aggies, the Horns have just 12 hours to get some rest, hydrate, and lock back in, as they take on the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns.

The Horns beat the Ragin’ Cajuns on Friday evening by a score of 12-5, breaking the game open with a 7 run inning to open up Regional play. This game will have a different feel to it. The Horns will be facing one of the two staff aces in freshman LHP Chase Morgan, and the Cajuns will certainly be more rested after an early afternoon thumping of Grambling, while the Horns will be tired and emotionally drained from losing the extra innings game to their rival.

Regardless of how they feel, prior success against, or any other factor, the one constant for both teams is it is put up or shut up time. A loss ends the season.

The Horns will turn to LHP Ace Whitehead on the mound, hoping that he can give them at least six quality innings to help preserve a beleaguered bullpen that has used up its best two arms already. The Cajuns x-factor is that they have their all-American closer waiting in the wings if needed, though his performances over the past five games pitched have been less than stellar.

Regardless, Texas has played well with their backs against the wall all season and this time, it means just a little more as they don’t want their season to end. Should be an entertaining matchup with all hands on deck.
