----This will be the first series between these teams after previously only playing in midweek games. The Longhorns are 5-0 against the Cardinals in Austin and won two midweek match-ups last season.
PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS
FRIDAY–Texas LHP Pete Hansen (3-0, 2.35) vs. UIW RHP Michael Garza (2-1, 1.83)
Texas looks to get in a proper groove this weekend against UIW Cardinals, as the conference opener looms next weekend (at Texas Tech). Garza is no slouch on the mound, but Texas has the advantage in talent in all aspects and are back in their safe space (Disch-Falk Field). UIW does come in on a 5 game winning streak so they do have some momentum.
