Texas Drop in the AP

I mean did you not watch the 1st half? As of right now Texas needs to prove they're progressing and until they're consistent it's hard to believe.
They covered the spread with a backup QB. They also outscored UTSA 34-3 in the last 40 minutes of that game. They should not have dropped a spot. UTSA is a pretty damn good football team.

Bama didn’t get penalized for playing a close game with us.

Look we haven't been very good forever we're going to have to prove we're good. Honestly it doesn't even matter.

Previous seasons have absolutely no bearing on current day polls.
Fine. My guess is the team/s voted ahead of us had tougher opponents and it probably didn't help there was a struggle against an inferior team in the 1st half. I assume the AP is done by people. Maybe they barely watched the game.

I'm probably wrong about this because I don't normally pay attention to rankings this early. I could swear Alabama was #1 when we played them and "fell" to #2 after. So I think they were penalized for playing us close.

win out...none of it matters. You lost to the number 1 team in the country..win out and you still control your own destiny..f the polls!

I think Georgia moved up to #1 after they beat down Oregon in week 1. Can't remember for sure but I was thinking they did.

Probably that and Alabama struggling against an unranked Texas team. Especially when everyone had Alabama winning by 100 and supposedly being their best team yet.

It doesn't matter. We're playing in a way that I see progress. If we keep doing that, the we'll be fine. If the press has grown weary of the stop and start Texas is back stuff, and wants us to prove it, so be it. I just want to keep seeing progress. We beat an 11 win conference champion with a lot back by 3 touchdowns despite getting down early and having our backup qb in. PROGRESS. If we get to November with 1 loss, we can worry about rankings then.

By the way I think Penn state jumped us and they donkey stomped an secsec team at secsec's stadium on national TV. Hats off to those guys

That's exactly why early season rankings are pointless. You truly don't know what a team is until around week 5 or 6.

Doesn't matter, win games and everything will shake out in the end.
