I've never seen a coach mistreated as Coach Strong has been while at UT-Austin.
Coach Strong hold 3 national championships as an assistant coach. Hold the highest accolades from Urban Meyer, Lou Holtz, and Steve Spurrier.
Coach Strong was one fluke catch away from playing for a national championship while coaching at Louisville, UCF with the 3rd pick in the NFL draft beat them and the same UCF that mudstumped Big 12 champ Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl that year.
Yet, despite all of these accomplishments, Coach Strong was on the hotseat from day one at UT-A. Fans never accepted him. The excuse was he didn't have the resume warranting a "UT job", yet UT-a fans are rallying behind a coach with less than half of Strong's resume with no problems.
Fans are bought in and there will be a honey moon period. UT fans are making all the excuses for Herman they never afforded CCS. That's life.
A black man was never meant to be a coach at Texas and was never going to get a fair shake.
I'm not a Texas fan. I've subscribed to this sub for over 3 years, because I played for and respect coach Strong. He will rebound. This is not his lost but Texas's lost.
In a couple the buyer's remorse here will be strong. You just let a top 10 coach go for a narcissistic, inconsistent beauty queen. Just ask Urban Meyer who he would hire first: Herman or Strong...
