Defensive end Taquon Graham went to Twitter this week to deliver some big news of an upcoming announcement.

Graham, out of Temple, informed his followers that he will be announcing his college decision on May 27, following his team's spring football game.

The Texas Longhorns appear to be surging for the four-star prospect, with UT making another strong impression when Graham visited for the Longhorns' Orange-White game on Saturday.

Key quote: When we spoke with Graham at the Rivals Camp Series Dallas event in March, he had Texas, TCU and Baylor in a three-way tie. Baylor has fallen back with A&M moving into his top three.

"Texas, TCU, then it would be more likely A&M than Baylor," Graham said.

And who has the lead coming down the stretch?

"I would say more Texas. They're close, close to home, about a 40-minute drive from the town I grew up in," Graham said. "I don't know, I feel like around here, that's the big team around here. You can't go anywhere around this town without seeing some sort of Longhorn representation."

Special attention during Saturday's visit: Graham came to Austin well before the spring game's 1 p.m. start and he got to spend a lot of time with the UT coaches.

"On the visit, what was kind of different to me is that when I first got here, I went to coach Strong's office, straight to the defensive meetings and went to the d-line meeting too," Graham said. "I was sitting right by coach Haley, going through the schemes and game plans. That was pretty cool."

Graham already had a good relationship with the UT coaches and that continued to on Saturday. In addition, he got a good idea of how Texas would use him should he choose the Longhorns.

"That's very important to build relationships with the coaches, also to get a foundation on how they would use me, what I would be playing and all that," Graham said. "They told me fox end and explained to me why I would play that. They said something about putting the weakest tackle against their best player, which would probably be the right tackle since the left tackle is usually the best lineman."

My thoughts: This one seems to be trending very, very well for Texas. If Graham was to announce today, there's basically zero doubt in my mind that it would be Texas. That being said, Graham does have more than a month before he'll officially announce so things could always change, especially as coaches stop by to see him during the spring evaluation period. Bottom line ... this one looks very good for Texas and it'll be a pretty big shock if Graham doesn't choose the Longhorns on May 27.
