The longhorns have more problems on Defense, so why do you give your Defense a free pass.

I've watched the horns play several times, but never understood why the Defense was so bad.

Isn't Charlie Strong the Defensive guru of the team?

This staff brings nothing, we need to dump this garbage and move on. I don't care how bad it gets with recruiting this year, this staff isn't getting the job done on any level. Hell even David McWilliams who also couldn't coach offense to save his life at lease could field a decent defense. John Mackovich for all his arrogance and suckage on defense at lease knew how to field a decent offense.

This staff is as lost as if we took the professors from the Engineering department and made them the football staff.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, UT will long for the days of Mack Brown recruiting. Say what you will about his coaching ability and I may agree with you but the guy recruited like no other. He may have faded a little the last couple of years at UT but make no mistake, 99.9% of the guys that Mack recruited were also recruited by all of the other big boys. Even with recruiting fading Mack still eeked out an 8-5 final season.

Mack Brown has the same number of national titles as your all world coach. And Les Miles. And Phil Fulmer. And Larry Coker...

Baylor's Art Briles has the same amount of Conference Titles as Mack Brown, 2. Stoops has 9.

Same # of national titles. Which $ooners say is all that matters until Stoops' single one is brought up. Phil Fulmer. Lloyd Carr. LaVell Edwards. Bob Stoops.

I don't think Mack's recruiting really faded until that last year. 2010, 2011, and 2012 were all big time classes. He didn't develop them for shit, but a lot of coaches would have gladly traded classes with him on signing day. I certainly long for the glory days of Mack Brown, who wouldn't? I don't and will not long for what Mack became even if it means a few more wins. I would rather be playing coaches roulette than limit myself to what Mack was capable of doing at the end.

This may be true for now, but I think OU has a great shot to win the national title. They will match up well against us or whoever comes out of the Big 10. Their main problem will be Clemson.

...at which point I'll shut up about Stoops being equal to Les Miles and Howard Schnellenberger and Gene Chizik. Until then he's lost 3 national title games in a row. It's not like he hasn't had more bites at the apple.

I hope he stays at one. If he doesn't stay at one, that means we don't win it all this year. But I do think Bob Stoops is one of the 10 best coaches of all time, and if he wins this one I would consider putting him in the top 5.

You need to retake a grade school math class.

And also lay off the meth. Stoops is not a top 5 coach all time if he simply wins a 2nd title. And he's not top 10.

Bear Bryant, Rockne, Saban, Osborne, Paterno, Bowden, Yost, Wilkinson, Leahy, Stagg, Hayes, Schembeckler, Neyland, Meyer, and on and on. Your boy Switzer is ahead of him in the shot at the top 15.

The only current coaches right now that are in an all time conversation are Meyer and Saban. Stoops is a great coach but college football didn't just start 20 years ago.
