I’ve racked my brain at why we’ve been so lackluster at times (second halves) on offense. I may be crazy, but the inability to hit the deep ball. I can’t remember the last one we hit that wasn’t on broken coverage. We can’t abuse teams by taking the top off the defense. What you’ll see if you go back and watch some of our games, is in the second half, other defenses will bring down there safeties to 10 yards. It makes our intermediate passing game and run game much harder. If we could hit the deep shot, it’d force teams to play back their safeties to help the corners in the deep zones. The one game we saw it in full swing, on a small sample, was the Alabama game when Quin was connecting in the deep shots. Granted like 2 of them were dropped, but nonetheless it forced Bama to respethe deep threat until Quin went out.

Edit: to add to this, Quin also has to learn how to just throw what’s there. Some of these shallow crossers have been open and he still takes the shot. Like on the 3rd&7 in the red zone. Instead of throwing the crosser he threw the wheel which was “open” but definitely the harder throw
