Longhorns schedule three-game football series with Rice, add Louisiana Tech to future schedule
Texas will play the Owls in Houston in 2019, and then in Austin in 2021 and 2023. Louisiana Tech to visit Austin in 2019.
Austin -- The University of Texas has agreed to a three-game football series with Rice University that will take the Longhorns back to Houston and NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans in 2019. The Owls will then travel to Austin in 2021 and 2023.
Texas defeated Rice during the 2015 season, 42-28, and has won the last 13 meetings between the teams dating back to 1994. The Longhorns are 41-2 against the Owls since 1965, and lead the all-time series, 72-21-1.
The Longhorns also added Louisiana Tech to their future schedule in 2019. That game will be played in Austin and marks the first football meeting between the Longhorns and Bulldogs.
