One thing I'm hoping he can do immediately is to unify all his players. We can't have any more of M vs C and T guys. No more C guys vs T guys. And SS, Hartzell, and CDC have to unify all players past and present because this hasn't happened in a long time. You can't overstate how important this is. If he does this than the SS era is off to a good start.

And Hartzell, CDC, and SS have to establish boundary lines and let people know that they and nobody else will make the final decisions in regards to TX fb. Now that's funny. Look it's more than just changing coaches. Look at OK they've had the same ad for almost 25 years. JC and Stoops established a culture at OK fb that eased LR into the transition. But we haven't had that and imo it starts at the top. And if we don't well I don't want to think about that.
We've all been disappointed the last ten years and I remember everyone thinking what a great coaching staff MB brought to Austin. But then we found out that some of them weren't all that. It appears that SS is off to a good start but I'm going to wait and see what happens on 10/9/21.

I'm more concerned with getting the boosters and BMDs to understand we want their money not their opinion. We get them in line and the former players will fall in line with one thing only and that is winning. If Texas puts out a winning product then all else will take place.
What I really want to see is Texas bring in some offensive linemen from the transfer portal to help with depth for next season. we get that and we will be able to make a run at Oklahoma. Without it and we will be playing for 3rd place. Again.

Do transfer portals count towards scholarships? I read somewhere we've got 9 scholarships available.
85 is 85 except when it comes to next year and guys returning. The 85 limit still counts but not for seniors returning. This is why a guy like Denzel Okafor can comeback but not count against the 85 limit. A transfer counts against the 85 limit as far as I can tell.
