I am through the first 3 episodes and it is the most compelling and terrifying drama regarding the Holocaust I have ever seen. It is terrifying because of its intimacy. The very personal suffering of the characters. It is brilliantly and hauntingly done. The love story, such as it is, is beautiful but horribly dark given where it is taking place.
The show demonstrates the madness, the horror, and the insanity of the Holocaust in a way no show I have seen to date.
Harvey Keitel is okay as the elder so far but getting better as Lali. Everyone else is magnificent.
Haunting is the one word I keep thinking of.
