1. Like yesterday, they started the practice off with some field goal work. Trent Domingue was the only one to get work and he was more successful than he was on Saturday, but there's still work to be done.

Domingue converted his attempts from 32 and 37 yards. From 42, he hit one but another hit the left upright. From 47, he made both but one of those hit the left upright as well.

2. Brandon Jones and Chris Daniels were out of action with what appeared to be minor injuries.

3. John Burt has had a good couple of practices. Davante Davis has matched up with Burt several times in one-on-ones and Burt has definitely got the better of those match-ups. Burt blew by Davis on one play today for a easy catch down the sideline.

4. Davis did battle back on the next rep with a good jam of Burt at the line of scrimmage that threw the timing off of Burt's route. Davis is locked in as one starter, but I'm not sure he has what I'd call elite top-end speed after watching him match up with Burt a handful of times the past two days.

5. Devin Duvernay is fast, fast, fast. On one play in one-on-ones, he caught a little hitch and turned it to the outside. It took everything P.J. Locke had to keep Duvernay from getting the corner and racing up the sideline. Duvernay had another player in on-on-ones where he blew by Jason Hall down the sideline for a long catch.

6. Didn't think I'd see this, but Jake Oliver actually dropped a couple catchable passes. His two drops today may be more than he drops all the rest of fall camp.

7. Naashon Hughes limped off late in the practice. He appeared to be moving okay but was obviously banged up a little bit.

8. The offensive line was the same, with Kent Perkins at right guard and Tristan Nickelson at right tackle again.

In talking to someone today, I'm told that Perkins has actually been working at guard for more than a month. He got a little dinged earlier in the summer, Nickelson worked in at tackle and when Perkins was healthy enough to return, he made the move to his more natural position of guard.

9. Speaking of Nickelson, it's pretty staggering how big he is. He just towers over all the other offensive linemen on the team, even Kent Perkins. If Nickelson can hold down the right tackle spot once the pads come on, that will be a huge development for the offensive line.

10. The freshmen defensive tackles are getting a lot of work, partly out of necessity. A few of them have flashed, including a nice play by D'Andre Christmas (looks like he dropped the Giles from his last name) in run support. But overall, I heard through the grapevine today that the young pups are going to have to continue to work to improve before they're ready to be thrown to the wolves.

11. We mentioned yesterday that Reggie Hemphill had a pretty good day. He was at it again on Sunday and even got some run with the first team offense as a slot receiver.

12. These coaches don't mind getting on guys, and I'm pretty sure the entire stadium heard a couple choice words over the course of the practice.

13. Some notes from the early portion of one-on-ones ...

Burt beats Davante Davis deep

Armanti Foreman beats Kris Boyd deep

Lock decent coverage on Oliver. Oliver drop.

Sheroid Evans good coverage on Dorian Leonard

Reggie Hemphill-Mapps jukes Kevin Vaccaro, gets open deep

Devin Duvernay beats Jason Hall deep ... nice ball (believe from Swoopes)

Davis great jam on Burt

Holton Hill great coverage on Collin Johnson

Boyd great jam on Armanti and then rips the ball away right as it gets there.

John Bonney stride for stride with Davion Curtis downfield

Duvernay shows great speed after the catch

Boyd good coverage downfield on Collin Johnson

Burt great move at LOS to get by Sheroid Evans

14. Hard to judge the OL with no pads on, but I heard today that Denzel Okafor looked to be the best of the bunch over the course of the summer. Of course, Patrick Hudson's arrival could change that but Okafor is drawing strong reviews.

15. Chris Warren was back working out. I honestly didn't notice him doing much but I did see him on the field during some 7 on 7 stuff.

16. DB Jordan Strickland had a nice INT off of Jerrod Heard when he jumped an underneath route.

17. There was a Kai Locksley sighting. Repeat, there was a Kai Locksley sighting. He got some late work with the fourth string. He didn't do much, but at least he was able to get on the field today.

18. Swoopes and Buechele divided reps again, with Swoopes going first. I wouldn't say either set the world on fire today, but Buechele was the better of the two, in my opinion.

Here's why ...

Buechele doesn't force the ball into bad situations the way Swoopes sometimes does (including one that resulted in an interception). And on the short/intermediate stuff, Buechele's ball is just more catchable and he puts it in places where the receiver can make a move after the catch.

19. Today's punt returners ... Reggie Hemphill-Mapps, Jacorey Warrick, Armanti Foreman, Holton Hill.

Jak Holbrook was deep snapping, for anyone wondering. Holbrook is a walk-on from Austin McCallum. That will earn him some love from @Ketchum.

20. Michael Huff was out at the practice again, hanging out with the DBs.

21. Demarco Boyd had a pick-6 off of Matthew Merrick in 11-on-11 work.
