Tim Beck to UT

Great recruiter of Texas, big part of why OSU got some of the top Texas talent this recruiting cycle. Biggest knocks have been QB development and play calling (which it seems like he didn't do at OSU). I'm guessing Herman will be greatly involved in both of those areas.

Good recruiter and worked with Herman at tOSU. Welcome to the 40, Coach Beck. He's getting grief for the Buckeyes' play calling but he didn't call the plays.

Tim Beck should get a lot of credit for the commitment of Baron Browning, he opened the doors there.

BTW, in case you missed it: Tim Beck is really, really tearing it up on the recruiting trail with QBs and in Texas.

Since he arrived at Ohio State, Tim Beck helped keep the commitment of Joe Burrow, brought in Dwayne Haskins, Tate Martell and now Jones,

@Sole0526 Maybe this should help people understand that Beck isn't quite the abomination fans like to believe he is?\

Ohio State has the USA Today PotY on offense and defense committed (Martell, Wade). Not bad. Tim Beck played MAJOR role in landing both.

@_QHTN_ I do not subscribe to the theory that Tim Beck is a “problem” at OSU, not sure why everyone else does. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

#Buckeyes QB coach Tim Beck played a HUGE role in landing Haskins. He offered him in April of 2014 at Nebraska, has stayed close.

Every OC gets criticized by fans for play calling so I always take that with a grain of salt.

I hope I am completely wrong but now have no confidence we will have a better offense next year than this past year even with all the returning veterans. I watched a lot of Nebraskas games and I hated Beck's offense. I guarantee you Stoops would rather this offense be led next year by Beck than Gilbert. This is an arrogant move on Hermans part

I'm pretty sure Herman will install his offense and Beck will manage it.

Mack's winning ways went wayward when he fired GDGD as the scapegoat. Fans were calling for his head so he chopped it off.

Do tell? This is a salty staff!

Look, Meyer didn't replace Herman with Beck as a Co-OC for nothing, this cat can coach.

Getting to know Beck

His NU offense broke records and they won at least 9 games all seven years he was on staff.
He is a former Texas HS coach
He has been a Broyles Award nominee
He is a top notch recruiter
He is a Youngstown, Ohio boy
He had success at KU, remember that 12 win season...
Teams he has coached on haven't lost more than 3 games in YEARS.
He coached under the Purple Wizard
He didn't call plays at OSU in 2016, don't listen to the bitter Buckeye fan base.
He played QB at UCF

until his bio is up, there is this: http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/tim_beck_945373.html

Folks tend to regurgitate fanboard foder, don't be that guy.

Yes and he also said he would be "heavily involved" in the game planning...and he would give suggestions during drives or between drives. eases the mind big time.

Yes, some of our fans aren't very smart and ended up listening to bitter bucknut fans who are even less smarterer.

I'm just going to wait and see. I have a feeling Tom H is a no BS type of man just by some of the stuff I've read from former players. The man seems to know what he's doing right off the bat and has goals already set for the University. Now let's get the W's piled up!

Every Fan base in football minus a handful thinks their OC is a bum. Especially when he leaves. The OC position was probably the least important of all the coaching hires Herman made. He's going to be involved big time.
