“The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have”. - Vince Lombardi
Are you a cheerful giver?
Giving to charity is one option and another is giving one’s time to help those who are in need. I’ve witnessed some amazing acts of giving on Orangebloods. We may be a family of misfits here, but when a crisis strikes, it’s really heart warming to see our membership move to help someone in trouble.
Giving doesn’t have to be money or resources; it can simply be a willingness to listen to someone who is hurting. Time is a valuable commodity. We have a neighbor who lost her husband a couple years ago. My wife has established a friendship with her. What she needs most is someone to talk to, to listen to her, and to be with her. This neighbor recently told us that my wife’s willingness to spend time with her has made a huge difference in her life. The simple act of listening and being available has made her feel loved and seen.
Let’s look for opportunities to use whatever we have to give.
Be careful out there!
