There are some dangers to doing this. First it is not possible to discern what others actually think of you and their views can be variable. They can be subjective based on their own mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional conditions.
The main problem with letting others define you is it borderlines on idolatry, i.e. your desire to please others reduces your desire to please your Creator. It is better to see yourself in your Creator’s eyes and focus on pleasing Him rather than what you perceive others think of you.
Through your Creator’s eyes you will see how deeply and eternally you are loved. You can rest in the peace of looking to Him and feeling His presence in your life.
