“You can be the most intelligent person, and you can have so much potential, but if you don’t have a guide by which to channel that energy, then a lot of times, it’s futile.” —LaKeith Stanfield

I have seen this quote play out in the lives of some of my friends and family. I’ve known some very intelligent/book smart people who have ruined their lives by making really bad decisions. Why?

I believe their moral compass was not turned on, i.e., they didn’t have accountability to a higher power/Creator to help guide them to making better decisions. Temptations are everywhere. It only takes one weak moment, and we can get caught in a damaging situation.

There are countless examples of these scenarios. The business man/woman who hooks up with a stranger in a city far away from home violating their marriage vows. An employee who steals from their business owner and ruins their career. How many politicians have we witnessed getting caught in scandal after scandal? The addict that goes for months or even years of sobriety only to succumb to a situation where they are tempted one time and break it.

I believe it’s important to stay connected to our Creator, our friends, and family who can keep us accountable and remind us to keep our minds on guard against temptations that can lead us astray.

1 Peter 5:8

Be careful out there my TG friends!
