“Optimism is the one quality more associated with success and happiness than any other.” –Brian Tracy

The most successful people I know have this quality. They have a way of finding the silver lining in even the most challenging storms of life. These people inspire me to keep my head up when I face trials. My latest inspiration is my older brother. He was diagnosed with ALS this past summer which currently has no cure. The best we can hope for is a cure found before the disease progresses or a miracle healing by our Creator.

My brother has taken his diagnosis in stride. Every time I talk to him, he is upbeat and looks forward to doing things he’s always wanted to do. All his life, when things got tough, he would say…well it could be worse and then give an inspiring word. The other day I asked him for an update, and he told me that his disease is progressing but… “when I get to the point where I’m really f’d up, at least my insurance will pay for everything I need”. Wow!

I can’t help wondering how I would handle what he’s going through, he’s set the bar for me on how to deal with adversity.

Look for people who inspire you to keep going, no matter how bad the circumstances, these are our true heroes in life.

Take good care my friends!
